About The Course
Mostly tightly wooded fairways. Several holes in a park type setting with medium tree cover and (to be installed in 2026 after the grass grows) several more open holes with mowed landing zones. Long tees will challenge advanced players. Short tees are manageable for a beginner spending a weekend at the campground, but in most cases will still challenge the upper level player seeking a birdie. RV and tent camping available, a beach, and boat launch.
Currently 14 holes, but will be 18 in 2026.
Benches, garbage cans, bridges, and tee signs will be added in the near future.
History
Shane Kruse had been in contact with the McLeod County Parks Department since 2010, urging them to install a disc golf course in the county. He was getting some traction in 2020, when the parks manager retired. Then next manager was on board with a course, but moved on as well. The next manager was on board immediately as a player and very supportive. The Little Crow Disc Golf pledged $1000 towards the project to make this happen. In 2024 Shane Kruse and Sam King started the course design. Many local players helped with the process of brush removal and marking of pins and tees. In September of 2025, fourteen of the planned eighteen holes were installed.
