Pros:This is a good course the with alot of distance. Some of the holes require some skill to work through threw the trees. There is also old golf cart paths that are OB so you got to be acurate with your drives on some holes.
Cons: There are stakes in the ground that mark the tee pads that you can very easily cut yourself on if you get to close to them. Some of the tee pads are really spread apart so you have to walk to find the next hole.Some of the holes are wide open that dont need to be they could have pick different locations were they could have put them behind trees.
This is a good course that i would reccomend to anyone.

The course has come a long way. The course is set up very open, but the terrain changes give it a much more challenging aspect to it. The curators are doing a fantastic job. If you have the time, and the availability to get on base, on highly suggest you check this course out. You won't be disappointed!

This course has been under extensive renovation. Currently on Natural marked tees, this does not detract from the all grass course. This course contains skillfull placement of tees, elevation changes, Kansas wind, and takes advantage of the sparse foliage on this once 9 hole officer golf course. Growing support should translate soon to cement tee pads. With room to expand, come chuck some plates!

I wanted to put off my review of this course until I got a little more experience under my belt. While I've got some, I've still got a ways to go. But after playing more than a fair share of courses I realize what we have here at Riley. We've put a lot of work into new pin placements, and realizing different lines and routes available on the course. Considering it used to be a 9 hole ball golf course (explaining the wide open fairways), I think we've maximized the usage of trees/elevation on the course. I'd love to have more tunnel/technical shots, but unless we get a huge effort going and make a subterranean front/back nine, I don't think it's going to happen. So I've come to enjoy what this course is. Almost every hole requires a drive, upshot, and a putt. Some holes requiring a little more "airing it out" than others, so if you're driving in the 350-400 range accurately you can shoot under par pretty easy. This course has some awesome holes, my favorites being: #11 - Where hitting a monster flex shot just right can land you a massive birdie, #13 - Looooong and downhill, makes you want to empty your bag, #14 - Shooting from hilltop to hilltop around a very unforgiving tree that seems to reach out and grab discs, #16 - As much as I hate it, I love going for the death putt, and finally #17 - Shooting down from a hilltop down an S curve valley lined with trees. So in closing, with what we have to work with, I think it's a great course. For me especially, living 5 minutes away. Thanks to everyone who's helped with the development so far.
