The front 10 is short and wooded with woodchip trails. The rough is very forgiving. The majority of holes are right to left. Well maintained with cement pads although navigation can be tricky due to inadequate next hole signage. Relatively new cement pads and decent baskets.Overall a fun course to play. Didn’t play the back 10, but I hear it’s lacking cement pads.

I actually like the design of each hole. Technical shots, a bit of distance. Problems have to do with bad tee boxes (need more than a 2X4 toe board, and they need to be pointed in better directions on a couple of holes) and lack of signage directing between holes. If there were a course map posted or hole signs this would be a wonderful little course along the lines of Lamar Park or Hughes Park. It's not something to drive out of the way to play, but, if you're in the area already, it's a pretty quick round that will challenge you at times.

That this course has a C+ rating is a total joke. It's hard to believe anyone has been there since 2012. We never found the 1st hole fairway or basket. We only found 5 baskets located in random places ... show more ›

That this course has a C+ rating is a total joke. It's hard to believe anyone has been there since 2012. We never found the 1st hole fairway or basket. We only found 5 baskets located in random places in thick woods. The perhaps the narrow walking trails (not really near any baskets) are some sort of fairway! We couldn't find anything that looked like a whole so resorted to just finding the baskets, but as stated only found 5. Fail. Won't be back.

Used to be a toss at the wooden post old style course. Much improved. Really good for a quick round. Built into a cramped corner of a larger park, sandwiched between a softball field, an airport, and the road. Easy to find, large sign out front. Really well laid out for such a small space. This section of the park is dedicated to just disk golf. Dirt tees, paths already well worn. No trash cans except at the beginning of the course, but the amount of bottles and cans I find is staggering. People can't throw them in a bag for 20 minuets at worst?!? Lots of leafs in the fall, never very buggy or muddy though. Practice hole out front. Could use hole to hole signage, a map, and concrete tees.

^Once upon a time there were painted 2x4's in the ground to signal 'the tee', those are gone. You can still tell by 'wear' the area you need to stand
^Actually they have the room for atleast 9 more baskets, would be nice to see that!
^I have played this course many, many, many, many times and it has always been clean and maintained.

It's an excellent balance between a difficult wood course and an boring field course. However, none of the tees are visible from the pads, nor are maps included for this course so include time for walking each fairway to scout it out. The woods a thick layer of leaves throughout the year so hooking a disc under the leaves is a risk, be careful!

Great layout with each hole having different lanes, bends and pin placements. I could not believe how clean the fairways were of sticks, brush and stumps with just opening. First time through you need to walk ahead to find pins because most are blind or tucked tight against smaller trees! Great upgrade and appreciate all the efforts to bring a quality round to Norton Shores.

COURSE UPDATED. Ross Park Disc Golf Course now has 10 Discraft Chainstar double chain baskets for 9 holes of play and 1 practice basket at the start. Course has nicely cleared fairways throughout the woods with a badass view of the Muskegon Country Airport on a couple holes. Benches, garbage cans, and cement tee-pads comings soon!!!

course appears to be undergoing a change. all the posts from the old layout have been removed. the only posts i found were hole 1 which was by where hole 4 used to be and hole 9 which was near where hole 5 or 6 was. will contact parks department to see if they are just moving the holes around or if they are pulling the course.
