Pleasant Prairie Park DGC is a fun little 9 hole disc golf course that I just happened to find in my travels. This short little course has excellent baskets and tee pads. The course has a fantastic mix of moderately wooded and open holes with some tricky little fairways. There are several holes with slight elevation changes and a great mix of distances. You have your super short sub-200’ holes and then a couple holes that are around 250’ in distance. Nothing too long on this course, so I would consider this an outstanding course for beginners. For more experienced players, this is what you would call a pitch and putt course. Many experienced players tend to have a different opinion on these types of courses than I do. Personally, I absolutely love them. They are great for the growth of disc golf because they offer a style of course that isn’t too punishing for your first few rounds, and for the more experienced player, they are a great way to practice your approach shots. To me, they are overall important for the sport of disc golf. With this being said, this is honestly one of my favorite short 9 hole pitch and putt style courses that I have played in my 100+ total courses I have played. There are plenty of short ace runs, but this course still shows its teeth when you are off on your drives. I took a bogey on the 156’ 8th hole. While I hate that, I also love that because it shows that all of these holes aren’t exactly “gimmie” holes. All in all, this course is just good for a really quick and fun round. I thoroughly enjoyed my round at this course and given the chance, I would definitely play it again. Now keep in mind, I’m not saying this is a must-play course that you have to pack up and travel to play this weekend, but if you ever find yourself in the Pleasant Prairie Wisconsin area, definitely look this one up. If anything, you will have a fun quick round. This was a great first experience for my first ever disc golf round in Wisconsin!
