Ghost miners trail disc golf course is located within an outdoor art gallery called The International car forest of the last church and is open to the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The owner and operators of the property encourage patrons to bring spray paint, paint markers or brushes and use all the cars or paintable surfaces within the property to show your art! Be creative while slinging some plastic.
The disc golf course itself, is spread throughout the property utilizing the planted cars as obstacles for the shorter somewhat technical holes and also utilizes the varied elevations to increase difficulty with the wide open bomber holes! Please be cautious and aware of other park goer’s and artists visiting the course. We also extremely advise not climbing on top of some of the vehicles where it could be dangerous.
Ghost miners trail is a unique disc golf destination due to being able to have a casual round through wide open desert, through a constantly evolving or changing art gallery with stacked vehicles or even a bus buried at the hood and the tail end of the vehicle sticking almost 40 feet in the air, you can take a break from your round and blast an amazing art piece on a vehicle without worry of someone complaining! There is so much to say about this course but we don’t want to ruin the “first look experience” for you!
As of right now the tee box areas will be dirt as this course will be a slow work in progress, tee signs will be numbered with paintable steel numbers. Basket descriptions will be added as soon as we get all of them in. The terrain / fairways are comprised of game trails, off road vehicle trails, desert plant life, dirt roads and cleared out areas for the art gallery.
The year round course will be designed ASAP and the layout added to UDisc for everyone to enjoy. We will leave the tournament layout for those of you that want to bring out 6 temporary baskets to complete that layout or it will be available during the PDGA sanctioned tournament (Death Rattle at the Last Church) which happens the first weekend of October!
You probably won’t find another course like Ghost miners trail here in the United states and that is why we picked this location. Don’t worry about forgetting your paint because there is a good selection of Spray Paint and tips that can be purchased at the Goldfield Radio Museum-Across the highway from the Car Forest, or the Antique store across from the Dinky Diner. , this is how serious they are about wanting you to share your art!
The towns people of Goldfield NV are very proud of the towns history and make you feel very welcome as a guest. If you get thirsty after your round the Mozart Tavern is less than a half mile away from the course and serves a mean burger! Not interested in a beer with your meal, stop in at the Dinky Diner where the portions are huge and the food tastes amazing! After you eat, take the time to visit the official Gemfield headquarters, you just may run into the owner of the car forest there as well!
Come check out the course, doesn’t matter if you’re just passing through town, staying to conduct paranormal events at the haunted school or hotel or just out to see the town itself! Take some time and enjoy the venue while you sling some plastic!
