What?
Heavy and Fancy DGC is an 18 hole, par 68 disc golf course on 38 wooded acres in Warren County, North Carolina, near Lake Gaston.
Who?
Heavy & Fancy DGC is the passion project of Mike Heydlauf and Troy Hottle. Mike bought the land in March of 2023 and Troy designed the layout. Since then they've spent nearly every weekend sweating, cursing, and spending on the property, alongside a group of amazing volunteers from the Oxford Disc Golf club and local disc golf friends.
Why call it "Heavy & Fancy"?
When first exploring the property we found a rusted-out, old tin sign advertising "Heavy & Fancy Groceries". We figured the description makes about as much sense for a disc golf course as it does for a grocery store, so why not?
Access?
Heavy and Fancy is open to the public and free to play. Recommended donation of $5/round or $10/day will help continue to expand the layouts and add new amenities (please see our website for more information).
Entry?
The driveway enters on the Flemming Mill Road side of the intersection with Eaton Ferry Road. The practice green is on the west side of the powerline right-of-way in a grove of cedars. Hole #1 tees are set back and to the left of the entrance to the practice green.
