We played today and we're very unhappy about the changes. Many holes are ridiculously long. There was no signage so we didn't know how long to the basket or if there were any forward tees. Not very many picnic tables either. It's no longer suitable for the casual player. So sad. This used to be a great course!

Whoever redesigned this course is completely out of touch. This used to be top 10 courses in the state. Great variety, signature holes, you needed every shot in the bag. Then in 2021 someone thought it would be a good idea to combine 6 of the holes and make a "championship course", which could have been achieved with alternate tees and pin positions for tournaments, but they went further and took out like 1000 trees so it's permanently altered. Took great holes with lots of character and combined them into 1000ft behemoths. Holes 8 and 9 were combined so poorly you would have thought Dr. Frankenstein was behind it. They don't flow like golf holes. They suck. I'm sure you "pros" will love it, but you ruined the best course in the area.

Was higher on my list until the changes they made end of 2021. They decided to make it 18 holes instead of 24 and instead of making new holes they just combined the holes. The holes they changed are the holes that were actually some of the best holes and they left the 130 foot dinker holes. It feels like a safari course now.

New layout in 2021 has reduced the 24 holes down to 18. Old 8-9 are now combined into an ultralong wooded S curve. Treacherous old 11 perched over the swamp has the basket farther up the hillside. ... show more ›

New layout in 2021 has reduced the 24 holes down to 18. Old 8-9 are now combined into an ultralong wooded S curve. Treacherous old 11 perched over the swamp has the basket farther up the hillside. Old 13-14 are now combined into a narrow ultralong fairway through the woods. Old 15-16 have also been combined for an ultralong fairway in the fields. The old 22, which was one of my favorite par 3s in the area, has been deleted.

It has a bit of everything. A beautiful A+ starting hole on a peninsula, that would go in my dream 18. and lots of tight wooded lines with a good mix of forehand and backhand. Many of the holes have nagging swamps so you can lose discs. (Update) The terrible old baskets are gone and the new layout after hole 7 is cool and the par 4s are championship level difficulty. Although, the old layout was more fun IMO. And I don’t make the long trip much anymore because it’s not as worth it.

Overall, a well maintained course that I highly enjoyed. I will be back!

This course has been on my bucket list for 5 years now and finally got to play it. This is an outstanding course overall. Most of it is superb, and hole 10 did not disappoint. But 3 things shaved off my rating of an otherwise awesome course. 12 dollars to get in and play is just way to much for disc golf. Several holes go around a big open field, and I"m not a fan, although they provided the necessary grip em and rip em open holes.. And it was a very long walk from 23's basket to 24's teepad and it's basket was 40' from cars in the parking lot. I'll get a 3 on 24 about 98 out of 100 times. Terrible way to end an otherwise superb disc golf course.

R2L, L2R, Straight wooded shots, wide open big arm shots, concrete teepads are among the best I've played on, absolutely impossible to get lost with next hole signs, only gripes are that some of the hole descriptions are clearly not accurate, and the baskets are pretty hit, but what's not to love about that?

This one was a lot of fun, with nice variety in wooded/open, left/right/straight, long/short, risk/reward, etc. Really enjoyed the round. Great teepads, too. What kept it from an A was several holes throwing through/near mixed-use areas like picnic areas, trails, etc.

After reading reviews on this course I expected it to be a cross between the SE Michigan version of Flip City, one of the best experiences in the state, and damn near impossible. What I got was a course that is really nothing like Flip, not nearly as hard, but still pretty damn awesome.

LAYOUT - Easy to follow from hole to hole. Trails are marked with orange paint where roots are a hazard (they could spray a ton more, but still I was impressed). One thing that drove me nuts was a lack of clear PRO/AM tees on any particular hole with both. We didnt know which ones had it and the card did not list distances for both. Signage overall was a bit odd. The distances were not always accurate and the shot path graphics were off on at least half of the holes (so look and see where the basket is your first few times there).

CONDITIONS - litter is pretty low. Respect to the leagues and regulars. Tables are a bit sparse, as are cans (but not horribly. And the cans they have are amazing. Bagged and metal lids). Course could use some limb trimming. Some shot lines are impossible with the current conditions in that respect.

PLAYING THE COURSE - the shot selection and variation between holes is awesome. A few water hazards make it interesting. A handful of the holes are great risk/reward opps and in my eyes this makes for an interesting round every time since you can try new shots and see what happens. Holes 4, 6, and 15 come to mind. A few holes have pro and am, but not nearly enough of them. More dual tees would help create a bit more playability for Addy. There are elevation changes (but nothing horrible or too taxing. In other words you can take a cart out here and do well with it). It is a technical course for the most part, with some of the most contested fairways around. There are a few bomber shots that are open and pretty straightforward, which adds a nice element of balance.

MISC STUFF - this place is wayyyy off the beaten path. Be ready for that. There are some stores close enough, including a Meijer about 20 minutes from the course. Ill add more when I play more.

PROS- Fun, shaded, lots of variation of shots with a decent amount of elevation changes, good park amenities including bathrooms, pop machines, lots of water spots, and as clean as just about any course I have played.
CONS - Where are the dual tees for all of the holes? Most of them could fit in another tee. This would make this course even better. A few more tables or benches would be rad. Better signage would move this to an A.

OVERALL
A must play for anyone in the area. Some small improvements and this place would shine and then some. With a technical feel and some unique shots I have not seen in most of the courses in the area. Will add more when I play again.

Very challenging in parts, kind in others the way a course should be. Long and short tees on some holes. I recommend playing shorts if you're new to the course. Hole one is by the practice tee ask gate where it is. But the first big parking lot you come to it starts in the far right corner of parking lot. Player cards available at hole 1 or the gate.
This course has everything, couple elevation shots, dog leg rights and lefts, couple water holes (but not a swampy course at all even though it has 1), long and short holes, tunnel shots to wide open bomb holes. Rarely busy but everyone that plays it are all cool and friendly. It's challenging but shouldn't scare ya if you are serious enough player to join Discgolfscene.
Side note it almost scares me to leave a A+ rating because I don't want this course as busy as Stony Creek on the weekend :) which is another A+ course imo

A championship level redesign that plays from shorts and longs. This course has length, variety, wooded and open holes, water hazards, mild elevation, new red Pro ChainStar baskets and some new short and long cement pads. The new layout is very challenging from shorts and longs. Placement shots in landing zones is required on a few of the longer wooded holes. Holes 1-7 are the same as the original 24 hole layout. Not sure why hole 4’s pin wasn’t moved to the top of the hill. Hole 8’s fairway has a wall of trees even though a few have been removed before the old 9’s pad. Tight and technical and a water hazard on the left of the fairway. The hole 9 swamp shot is longer but fair with the pin placement at the top of the hill. Front 9 is arguably the best in the state. Hole10 also plays longer, the basket is 60 feet further to the right with trees lined on both sides. The rough on the right side has been cleaned up. Holes 11 and 12 are identical to the OG holes 12 and 13. Hole 13 is a long, tight tunnel shot from both shorts and longs (combined OG 14-15). Some trees have been removed around the fairway. Holes 14-16 are bomber shot field holes that play from shorts and longs. Windy conditions and 2 foot field grass/weeds are challenges. The fairways are wide and regularly mowed. Nice touch in placing 16’s basket (OG hole 21) further back to make for a more challenging tunnel upshot through the gap. Holes 17 and 18 are the same as OG 23 and 24. Overall, the new layout is ideal for pro and advanced players but very challenging and even frustrating to recreation and novice players. Many have made it very clear they will miss the old layout which was rated 4.6 on UDisc.The course continues to be well maintained with trash baskets on every hole. Some picnic tables, benches and trash cans. Restrooms are located in the parking lot. ***The lack of hole maps since the redesign lowers the course rating to an A-.

The steep parking fee will keep many casual golfers away. I don't know what these people talking about that it's swampy definitely not! And I would definitely recommend playing a tournament on this gem as it sells out all the events I see posted there. Well worth the trip and I will be back many times.

Some water in play mostly disc retrievable stuff but well placed pin placements putting the hazards in play. Couple of fun wide open bomb holes near the end. Roughly half the holes have a shorter pads ideal for lower skill level players, Very well kept, trash cans every hole, huge tee pads, next tee markers, minimal graffitti and causal course damage.

Hole 8 is my only problem with the layout. After the tee shot you are basically playing whack f*** trying to get down to the basket. There is no real line to hit and it is the least fun hole on the property. Remove about 10 trees and this hole is epic. Tee pads are in good condition. Baskets are great. No distances on the signs for whatever reason.

The park is probably the most beautiful park in the area and my favorite part is if u go out there at 1100 on a weekday, I am the only one there. I have an entire world class course to myself to enjoy. What a gem!!

If you do not know how to throw, pick another course - you will loose all your discs here(woods or water). Although challenging, the layout of the course is fun; some shots requiring precise lasers, others (especially in the field) are all about raw power. My favorite hole is the one where you are forced to throw over water (I think hole 15 or somewhere around there) you just don't find stuff like that anywhere else.

I skipped that hole. 17 thru 21 around a parking lot. boring and long Definately a course for the higher skilled players. $10 to get in was steep, The park was very nice with lots of things to do.

for me, the course was a good mix of everything, but parts of the course, just came off as far too over grown. one hole was literally a 2 ft wide path and thats it. otherwise nothing but velociraptor country aka thick brush... given the drive i have from fraser, i wouldnt drive out to play it again. i recommend playing it at least once though. the front was fun, most of the wooded holes can be a challenge but enjoyable, and toss in a hand full of real head ache holes... over all i wouldnt recommend it for a new player, hell even a mediocre player like my self... takes some control to stay in the fairway on a lot of the holes.

Addison Oaks is a tremendous course, that you should definitely play if you are in the area. 24 holes with plenty of water, wooded areas, and long open fields. Hole #1 goes over water onto a peninsula and hole #25 ends with a whopper that must be 600+ feet. Cement pads are just in, and they are fantastic. Camping is available too.

Of all the Metro-Detroit courses Addison Oaks is the best. This course has a great mix of shots and holes. The majority of the course plays through the woods with a 6 hole loop out in an open field. the only drawback of Addison is the natural tees. They may be a bit uneven but the are maintained regularly by the park.(Also, there are plans to install concrete tees within the next year) The entry fee is also pretty steep but that keeps the casuals and idiots off the course. There are winter doubles out here at 10am on Sundays usually, otherwise there isn't a league at Addison. If your in town, skip Firefighters and Stony and check out Addison, you won't be disappointed.
