SUN. ACERACE at Vance Sponsored by DiscGolfDepot. If you show up & have not reserved a players pack, you can still get in and get a players pack on re-order. This means that you will have to borrow 1 of the 2 discs given to a friend and get him back when your players pack comes in. Vance will be setup in the traditional "Jerry" AceRace fashion, with most holes cut in half & adding a tun of baskets. This kinda guarantees several aces during rounds. Remember that is is illegal to play in an Ace race if you have done one before or previously thrown the prototype discs. Even when you get your players pack you are not aloud to throw the disc.

If your not going to the Oregon / Washington Disc Golf Championships tomorrow, come check out the AODGC!
Its going to be perfect weather at Timber for this tournament. Online registration closes tonight at 7pm. There will be sign ups in the morning starting at 8:30am. Bring some chili for the cook-off & your disc golf cart. BagTags are not required but being played. I wonder who will win the basket in the raffle?

The Chili Cookoff will be in between rounds, around 12ish. There is no power out there, so please make sure you have a way to heat your chili.

Singles 2 rounds with bagtags (optional) & nice players pack.

Players package includes: ABDG lst official hot stamped tournament disc, an AB-mini, your choice in sticker, lunch, entry into potluck chili cook-off, entry into disc golf cart contest, raffle ticket & 2 rounds at Timber Park.

Come out & join Disc Golfers all over the world in celebrating our love for the sport.

I wanted to clarify a few questions I have been getting.

Q: Do I have to show up both days of the event?
A: No, make it out to either day or both. I will have sets of trophies each day for competitive players. If you play both days you will still only receive 1 players pack. WBDGW is setup as an event to promote & expand the sport of disc golf & introduce to new players.

Q: What does competitive & non-competitive mean?
A: If you are playing competitively, then show up @ 9:30am - either day, & play 2 rounds with potluck BBQ in between for a small trophy & bragging rights. :) If you are playing recreational or non-competitively, then just come out anytime & pick up your players pack - hang out & play some leisurely disc golf.

Q: What is in the Players Pack?
A: You will get a choice in 1 of the following Millennium discs, Omega SuperSoft (like a really soft aviar), JLS (like a soft star tbird), or Q Orion LS (i hear its similar to a sidewinder in champ plastic - limited amount available) & you get a 2011 WBDGW T-Shirt.

Q: Whats the deal with the Potluck BBQ?
A: Both days are setup as a social event with a potluck BBQ in between rounds. So feel free to bring some meat, or a side dish. I will have an experienced BBQ'er on hand to cook for us. Please see list below for items we may need & let me know if you want to volunteer to supply.

Q: What if we run out of Players Packs?
A: There will be a waiting list if we run out of player packs, you will be able to pick out your disc & shirt size to be delivered within a week or two after event.

Please let me know if you guys have any more questions.

Stuff we could use for the Potluck - let me know if you can provide.
Meat (is it time to clean out your freezer..?), side dishes such as chips, dips, salads ect.., more bbq coals, condiments, paper plates(napkins, forks ect..) chairs, and anything else you would like to bring that will make this an outstanding event.

If you are looking fo something to do this Saturday ABDG has offered to help with a work party at Leverich Park this Saturday to get things ready for the busy season ahead.

The plan is 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Bring gloves, rakes, shovels, trimming tools, etc.

The goal is to pick up every speck of trash, any downed branches to be moved off fairways, spread bark chips in key areas, repaint tee lines on holes 6, 10, and 11 and clear bamboo to make room for an alternate pin location on hole 4. Tee sign repair, adding hooks on signs and new caps. Also graffiti removal from baskets and/or signs.

If we have enough volunteers, time and materials we would also like to terrace the fairway going up hole 11.
Open to players suggestions on any other changes.

Also, if we have a pickup or two it would be great to have them running out to get chips for people.

There will be a doubles round after the park cleanup.

Come out and give back to a great disc golf park, a couple hours can go a long way..

April 30th - May 1st, Leverich Park, 2 rounds each day - same format both days, so you can pick either Saturday or Sunday to play. This event is geared twords new players to the game, so bring your friends & family.
There will be prizes, give aways, skill shots, potluck BBQ & fun for all ages & skill sets.

Hordes of Disc Golfers will be playing the game all over the world on this weekend, come & be a part of the celebration!

Another great weather day before winter sets in. This weeks bagtag will be a tun of fun. I personally spoke with Camo & he has agreed to play the Pro pads while we all play the Ams, but he is confident that he will still give us a run for our money..
If anyone else wants to play on the propads with Camo, I will have a nice separate prize for pro & am pads. Still full tag shuffle.
Turkey pot & ace pots are growing. We will play 18 holes for the 1st round & go upto the 9 hole side for the second.

This should turn out to be a fun day for Disc Golf. I hope the weather holds for us!
As I have mentioned in previous weeks, Camp Dakota offers an 18 hole course with new baskets just recently installed.
They also have a paint ball course that is not open during the weekdays, so it should not interfere with our game.

There is a $3 per person park fee.

For those of you that are interested I have suggested a second round of Paint ball to mix things up.
I have spoken with the camp & they offer a $30 package that includes 500 paint balls & all the equipment. Though they do not normally have paint balling during the weekdays, they will open it for us if I can get a small group to commit. They do also offer group discount rates of 6 or more.

Please let me know BEFORE Monday 8-11 if you are interested in playing some DG Paintball, so i can reserve the spot.

$3 - all day Disc Golf
$33 - Disc golf & paint ball

We are leaving Vance Park Coffee shop tomorrow at 10:30 am and arrive at Leverich Park around 11:15-11:30 depending on traffic. If you live on that side of town you are welcome to meet us there.

Tomorrows event has a Pirate theme to celebrate the Portland Pirate Festival happening this weekend. Pirate dress is optional & Pirate chatter be encouraged.. There is a prize for the best pirate.

We are an eclectic group of die hard disc golfers & we need a logo that represents our love for Oregon & disc golf. winner's design will be featured on league shirts & paraphernalia. Winner will also receive a shirt with new design.

How:
The design i am looking for needs to be 1 or 2 tone colors, fit on a disc or shirt & represents the love of disc golf in the northwest.

This weeks bag-tag challenge will be at Hornings Hideout this Wednesday 7am.

We are going to meet up at Hornings hideout at 7am to avoid traffic & hopefully get a few games in. I will have bagtags on hand to give out at Hornings hideout. If you are new to the bag-tag challenge, please register below before showing up, thanks.

I will get the word out as much as I can before the event. Those of you with bag-tags, please help me spread the word!

Hornings Hideout is located in North Plains & has a $3/person cover + a couple bucks for gas for those of you gracious enough to drive.

If you who would like to attend that do not have a ride, please contact me and I will try my best to find you a ride.

If you are unable to make it out that early, we will still be having the regular bag-tag meeting 10am at park place coffee shop. Course to be determined by group that shows up. There will be a Acerbinky Disc Golf Member there with bag-tags to hand out for any new comers.
