About
The Westerly Lions Club is a service organization that is part of Lions Clubs International.
Our local chapter currently has 100+ members consisting of both men and women. We are best known for our work to help the visually impaired but our service work extends much farther than that. With both monetary and people power we assist in local, state and world causes.
Our local club was founded in 1926 by several forward-looking Westerly residents. Lions Clubs International was founded in 1917 and was nowhere near the size it is today with 1.3 million members in 44,500 clubs in 201 countries. In RI, we are the 4th oldest club with a rich history of serving.
