Kenai Eagle Disc Golfers
Andrew Jackson February 21, 2012 at 11:10am
Spring is slowly approaching...What is everybody up to??? Haven't seen too much activity on the Eagle...and the Alaska Group is attempting to get a schedule worded out for the season. What do you think we can do this season...Any ideas about the Kenai Open??
Get back with me and or James with your ideas. Sooned is definitly better than later. Proper planning is important in putting on a quality event..or so I believe.
Thanks all...see you out on the course.

I am looking to go out and play a couple rounds on Saturday. Anybody want to join me about noon.... I know we are anticipating a bit of snow fall over the next 24 hrs...could make it interesting.....I'll check back here Saturday in the AM...Hope to see some interest.

PLaying in the winter can be challenging enough without having your pathes all clogged up with deadfalls...hope I can still get the path at 3 taken care of...will have to see

Cleared the leaners from 4, cleared a path on 9 and cleared the pad on 12. We need to take a closer look at the guard trees on 18. Some of the trunks are splintered and leaning onto each other. We may want to think about taking several of them down, before they fall... I'll go out and take some picures Sunday..weather permitting...

Wind storm this week has left some work 2 be done. Trees to clean up on 3/4/8/9/12/18...4 needs to be done 4 safety sake..the rest need to be done now beforre it makes traveling the course more difficult... We might want to move 9's basket after break-up..the three front guards are toasted.....I plan on bringing my chainsaw out Saturday to get some work done.

Saturday the 12th will be the first Winter Point series round at Burnie. I would like two play two rounds of 18 kinda like a tourney but all depends on what people want to do.
James Gough November 1, 2011 at 10:44pm
I was thinking like couple rounds at the eagle on a Saturday then the following Saturday at Burnie go back an forth between the two for how long is up to everyone then at the end 1st-3rd will get prize packs and the payouts could be more then the top 3 just depends on how many people join

Thanks Kenai, the last four years have been a lot of fun. When I arrived in Aug. 07 there were five other disc golfers who were out almost every day. This year the course was packed more days than not during the summer and we got another course put in. Keep playing, keep building, take pride in your courses and enjoy.

A big thanks to Ben Hulbert who put in a full day of leveling holes, mixing cement, pouring cement, leveling pins, placing tee signs, constructing baskets and finally putting 9 shiny new baskets in the ground. Keegan Remsen put in more than a few hours on the course as well. Also want to thank Kyle Scarlett, Jesse Kruse and Oscar Mills for the help putting the baskets together and putting them in their new homes. There's now a new course in Kenai. There's now a new course in Kenai. It's short, it's not super difficult, but it does take a decent throw to get your birdie.
GRAND OPENING: Thursday night for the last league night. Someone will be going home with the acepot (no matter how long it takes). Call Chris for details.

Holes have been dug. Baskets have arrived. Tomorrow (Tuesday) we poor concrete and put the baskets together. They might be in place as early as Wednesday night. Give me a call if you're interested in helping. Big thank to Ben and Keegan for lots of help tonight.
