Disc golf continues to grow exponentially but under the mainstream radar… This lifestyle sport has everything to do with landscape design, culture and leisure recreation for an increasingly urban world… Anyone interested in this subject should check out this 2013 Landscape Architecture Masters thesis from Cal Poly Pomona: Disc Golf Course Design: Inscribing Lifestyle into Underutilized Landscapes, for the short, cold months ahead:

I will be at the Eagle this afternoon! 4:20 tee time!

I'm an old guy who's new to disc golf but having a ball at it with the family. Is there going to be any league stuff here in Kenai/Soldotna this year? Are there any more tournaments? I am no where near having the skills to compete but would enjoy watching & maybe helping out.

Which one of you melon farmers works in the oilfield down in Swanson? Saw an f150 with a DD sticker and a PKDG sticker on it today when I was out there working.

Is there a Kenai board or Rep in place right now?

Edan Badajos   December 27, 2013 at 3:28pm

It was Andrew Jackson last year but he has moved away. We are looking for somebody to step up and take on that position.

Chris Goodrich   December 27, 2013 at 11:28pm

Darin Hagen    June 8, 2013 at 5:23pm

Are there any leagues this year?

Chris Goodrich   June 11, 2013 at 11:44pm

Hey Darin, I haven't been around since 2011 and I'm not sure what all has been going for leagues since then. But send some feelers out to James Gough, Ian Dolphin and Luke Baumer. Those guys can help you link in, or maybe support you in starting up a new league. Best of luck and enjoy the Eagle.

Darin Hagen   June 12, 2013 at 6:44pm

Thanks Chris.

I'll be out shooting this weekend...and getting as crow flies distances....tee pads are undecided..depends on A) funding and B) improvements to the trails..or so I was informed this afternoon

Chris Goodrich    July 28, 2012 at 1:13am

We need pics AJ. I got to walk it when it was still in the preliminary stages, I'd love to see it with baskets in the ground. Have they decided on tee pads?

Andrew Jackson    July 27, 2012 at 11:16pm

Well the new course at SkyView has all 19 baskets in, plus a practice basket near the parking lot...Don't know when the signage is going to be up, but this looks like an enjoyably challenging course with great potential to eat up plastis if one is not careful

Chris Goodrich    June 11, 2012 at 6:14pm

Last year Oscar Mills was in close contact with the group that was organizing the course effort, so he may be a good contact for anyone that is interested. The last plan had the course starting on the trails entrance that are accessed from Kalifornsky Beach Rd (I believe the entrance is right across from either the Rodeo area or Softball fields. They were originally planning on 19 holes for the course so TDs can mix and match the holes for different tourney looks. The course has a great amoun ... more

Hello all, this Friday, the 15th will be the first evening of preparing the Tsalteshi trails for a new disc golf course. There will be folks cutting down trees and clearing grounds for tee pads. Please bring work gloves and boots. More hands will make this project quicker! The work party will start at 5:00 pm. This work party is sponsored by the River City Rotaract. If you have any question you can give them a call or message me. I am not certain if this is going to be an 9 or 18 hole layo ... more
