The Yeti Battle Royale has been a HIT! Come see what its all about...
This SUPER FUN event fun is an XC tier PDGA event meaning the format is different than a normal event. Everyone will still receive a rated first round. I have done this format several times to rave reviews...please read to know how things are happening and let's have some fun!
Everyone will play a normal PDGA round rated singles format the first round. In fact, the event is technically a ONE round PDGA event that qualifies you for the actual Yeti Battle Royale. The three lowest scores in each of the six, 8-person divisions plus lowest score of the female divisions will all make The Battle Royale. (Divisions may be adjusted due to demand, but 40% of division Qualifies for The Battle Royale) At that point everyone who Qualifies will win cash or prizes based on your PDGA status as an AM or PRO. The longer you last in The Battle, the more you WIN!
For the SECOND ROUND_Battle Royale...all 19 qualifiers will start on the same hole and we will eliminate one player per hole until ONE PLAYER is standing! Eliminations happen by either one player having a higher score than all others on the hole or if multiple players score the same highest score, everyone with that score will tee off on the next hole with the rest of the "flock" (group), but those highest score players will be on the "chopping block". This means the chopping block player whose drive is farthest from the pin or OB the shortest will immediately become eliminated based on the previous hole and the others will continue to hole out and hope to not be in the highest score group again when the current "live" hole is completed. It's really that simple. Only one player will be eliminated on each hole, so you don't always have to score the best, but if you get on the "chopping block" you are under the pressure of throwing a better shot than the worst throw of the chopping block group.
Everyone in the Battle Royale will win cash or prizes to be distributed at the end of the match. The later you stay in the battle the better your prizes or more cash you will win! There will be more prizes and cash available than a normal C-Tier so the amounts won low or high may skew the normal suggested payout schedule and this the XC Tier.
Entry Fee Breakdown:
$15 PDGA, Insurance, Greens Fees, LUNCH, Admin, EDGE Support
$25 Battle Royale Payout ($1,000+ with a sold out event)
(*The lowest women's score will qualify for the Battle Royale round and more may qualify depending on other divisional numbers. All divisional women not making the battle will get paid out according to PDGA tables)
