About this tournament

An unsanctioned BYOP doubles two round tournament. $10 from each team's entry fee will be donated to the Fredrock Disc Golf Club, with the rest going straight to payouts! Please pick the division that seems most appropriate for your team, the event is meant to be as fun as possible.

Gold/Mixed Payout - PayPal
Silver/Bronze Payout - Vouchers for merch through onsite vendor.

There will be 2 CTP's for each division, with all of them happening during the Best Shot portion of the tournament.

1st Round:
Layout: Red Tee pads to White Baskets
Format: Favorite Shot

Favorite Shot is by far the most popular doubles format. Both players throw from each lie (starting with the tee shot), then the team chooses which of the resulting lies to continue play from, until the hole is completed. Teammates do not have to throw from the same lie (if teammates would like to throw from different lies because it favors their throwing style for example).

Lunch:
Bring your own lunch.

2nd Round:
Layout: Red Tee pads to Yellow Baskets
Format: 7 holes each of Alternate (Holes 1-7), Tough (Holes 8-14), & Favorite Shot (Holes 15-21)

That's right, with a temporary 21st hole again this year, we're bringing back the mix of formats to get the season of World of Doubles off right. 7 holes of Best/Favorite shot, just like Round 1, followed by a couple true tests of Doubles play, 7 holes each of Tough Shot and Alternate Shot.

Tough Shot: both players throw from each lie (starting with the tee shot), then the competing team in the group choose which of the subsequent lies will be used, with the aim of making the hole as difficult as possible. Only one player on the team needs to hole out for the team to complete the hole.

Alternate Shot: Only one sequence of throws is made on each hole. The team selects a player to throw the tee shot at the beginning of the round. The other player then throws from the subsequent lie, and play alternates in that fashion until the round is completed. Alternate Shot is closer to a singles format, where one partner can't bail the other out. Whichever team member holes out cannot throw the tee shot on the next hole.

CTP & Ring of Fire Challenges
Included at no extra cost for all divisions, we'll have 2 contests for cash (paypal). You don't have to participate in these, but they're already included, so you might as well take a shot at the cash!

For the CTP challenge, anyone who wants to participate will take 5 throws at a designated basket. Closest to the basket for each division will win. Each division will have their own competition, so you'll only be competing against players in your division for these challenges.

The Ring of Fire will be done as one whole group, with only one winner taking home the prize. If you haven't done a Ring of Fire before, it's almost the pinnacle of disc golf chaos. Everyone participating creates one large circle around a basket and attempts to make the putt at the same time. If you miss, you're out. If you make the putt, you go on to the next round and this goes on until only 1 person is left. This event will be done after the awards, while the CTP can be done as soon as cards start coming in.

100% of entry fees (besides the designated donation amount) will be used towards payouts and tournament related items (city permits, CTP items, additional games, etc).

Ace Pot is the World of Doubles Ace Pot, which rolls over from the previous tournament if no aces are hit.
