WGE LOCALLY IN LONGMONT:
On August 7th we will be hosting a women's-only disc golf tournament that is part of a global event! Registrants will play two rounds of disc golf at Wildcat Ridge (at Westview Middle School), with an hour lunch break between the rounds.
After tournament play is over, awards will be given out as well as other exciting prizes and fun activities - more info to come!
In addition, on August 6th we plan on providing free disc golf clinics to any of the ladies that have registered to play in the tournament on August 7th. More info to come regarding the clinicians, the clinic topics, the clinic times, etc!
WGE GLOBALLY:
On the weekend of August 6th and 7th, women from all around the world will play two rounds of disc golf at their local participating PDGA Women's Global Event. Scores from the first two rounds of each participating tournament will be submitted by the individual tournament directors and rated by the PDGA. These round ratings will be totaled and averaged to determine the player's "Global Score." The global results will be updated throughout the day to determine the PDGA Women’s Global Event Champions and the winner in each division will receive a memorable trophy. In 2021 over 3,000 women competed across the world and the PDGA is aiming to break that record in 2022. More info on the WGE can be found on this PDGA page: https://www.pdga.com/women/global-event
ACE POOL:
The ace pool will be split evenly with players if more than one ace is hit during tournament play. If no aces are hit during either round, a few division-specific CTP throw-offs will happen at the end of the day and the players with their disc closest to the basket will receive $ from the ace pool.
PAYOUTS / PRIZES:
Pro Division winners will be paid via PayPal within 48 hours of the end of the event.
Am Divisions will receive a players pack when checking in. Trophies will be awarded to Am division winners.
All divisions will have the opportunity to participate in post-tournament activities like a ring of fire, raffle, etc.
VOLUNTEERS:
Volunteers will make this event run smoothly! Volunteer roles will include but will not be limited to course spotters, course set-up/tear-down, etc. We will ask volunteers to commit to the entire day. Volunteer participation is free and lunch will be provided.
SPONSORS / DONATIONS:
Donations can be done through registration on this DGS event.
General sponsorship can be done through registration on this DGS event.
This event is being hosted by the Longs Peak Disc Golf Club (LPDGC) with support from the Boulder Disc Golf Club (BDGC). All administrative decisions, including tournament schedules, refunds, etc., are handled through the LPDGC. We greatly appreciate the support from both of these local clubs!
We are excited to announce the addition of added cash for every Pro division competing in our Women of Wildcat Ridge WGE on Aug 7th. Mark Crosby from 9908 Disc Golf Sports Center is a Gold sponsor and has generously donated the extra payouts for our event. Mark makes every contribution supporting the growth of women’s competitive disc golf in his beloved Mother’s name, Virginia Crosby.
