About this club membership

About Cedar Series Club Membership
The Washington Cedar Disc Golf Series Club Membership connects players across the state through a season-long competitive series designed to elevate tournament play while building a strong disc golf community.
Membership supports the operation of the Cedar Series and helps fund year-end series payouts, trophies, and player recognition. It also allows players to participate in the season leaderboard, where points are earned at each Cedar Series event based on placement and participation. All members of the Cedar Series will receive a commemorative bag tag at the end of the season!

The Washington Cedar Disc Golf Series is committed to growing the game by creating welcoming competitive opportunities for underrepresented groups in disc golf, including women, newer players, and our valued masters divisions, ensuring players of all ages and backgrounds have a place to compete, connect, and thrive within the sport.

The Cedar Series is designed to reward both competitive performance and consistent participation, giving players multiple opportunities throughout the season to improve their standing and compete for series awards.

By joining the Cedar Series membership, players become part of a statewide community focused on:
Competitive Disc Golf: Participate in a structured tournament series with season-long points and rankings.
Growing the Sport in Washington: Help support events designed to expand opportunities for players across the region.
Building Community: Meet new players, strengthen local disc golf networks, and participate in events designed to celebrate the spirit of the game.

Membership is open to players of all divisions and skill levels, from developing amateur players to experienced professionals.

Division Points Policy
Points earned in the Washington Cedar Disc Golf Series are tied to the division in which a player competes and the division they register for when signing up for series membership.
• Players earn points only for the division they play in at each event and toward the division they selected when registering for the Cedar Series.
• If a player competes in multiple divisions during the season (for example, MA1 and MA40), points do not transfer between divisions.
• Placement points will only count toward the division the player registered for in the series membership.
Players may not compete for Cedar Series points in multiple divisions during the same season, (for example playing MA3 one day and MA40 another day if the tournament allows for multiple days).

Rating Changes and Division Movement
If a player rates out of a division during the season, the following applies:
• Points earned in the lower division remain on the leaderboard.
• Points earned in the higher division will still count toward the player’s original Cedar Series division for season standings.
This policy ensures players are not penalized for rating increases while maintaining fair competition within each division.

Series Points System
A. Points by Placement
Place Points for C-Tier Events:
1st: 9
2nd: 8
3rd: 7
4th: 6
5th: 5
6+/Participation: 3
B-Tier Events have a x1.5 multiplier.
A-Tier Events have a x2 multiplier.
• Ties earn the same points evenly. For example, if two players tie for 2nd place, each receives 8 points.
• All players earn at least 3 points for participation.
• Tournament Directors earn 5th place points toward the series final for running an event unless they play the event. If the TD plays the event, they receive placement points.

B. Series Eligibility
Players must participate in at least 4 events to qualify for year-end series payouts.
Players must also register to be part of the Cedar Series through Disc Golf Scene.
Series registration will be closed at the conclusion of the 7th event.
Players that register after the conclusion of the 1st event, will receive retroactive placement points up to the previous 4 events, (for example, I register after the 5th event, I played the 1st and 2nd events only, I would get placement points for the 1st, 2nd, and 5th events).

C. Series Participation Bonus
Events played throughout the series will result in bonus points for those players:
5–6 events: 5
7–8 events: 7
9+ events: 9
Participation bonus points are added to a player’s total series points at the end of the season.

D. Tiebreakers
If two or more players are tied in total series points, the following tiebreakers will be applied in order:
1. Most tournament wins in the series
2. Highest points earned in the final event
3. Lowest total strokes across all Cedar Series events played

Series Eligibility for Awards
Players who register as Cedar Series members and meet participation requirements will be eligible for season standings, year-end payouts, and series recognition.

Together, Cedar Series members are helping create better tournaments, stronger competition, and a more connected disc golf community across Washington.
