The 2018 WI DISC GOLF TOUR FINALE IS A QUALIFIER TOURNAMENT!
HOW DO I QUALIFY?
There are two ways to get into the tournament:
1. By Invitation: Top finishers qualify to be invited for the first open roster spots.
To find qualified players, please go to the Tour Standings on www.widiscsports.com where qualifiers are highlighted in yellow. The finale invite list will be completed after Justin Trails Open scores have been uploaded.
2. By Wait List: If you have not been invited through qualification, and you have played in two or more WI Disc Golf Tour tournaments, then you may enter the wait list at any time. Roster spots will be held open until September 28th when unused roster spots will open up. Paid wait list players will fill the roster in entry order.
WHAT IS THE FORMAT?
ROUND ONE: The round with the largest payout will be 18 holes of no-push skins.
For Example: Each hole may be worth $15. If one person wins the hole, they could earn $15. If two players tie to win the hole, they both could earn $7.50. If 5 players win the hole they could all earn $3.
HOW DO I GET ON THE TOP CARD?
For divisions that have more than one card of qualified players for the Tour Finale event, cards are earned by the points you collected over the Tour season. For example: the players on the top card have earned the most points throughout the tour season (8 tournament scores are saved) The players on the second card, earned more points than the players on the 3rd card. This rewards your entire season of WI Disc Golf Tour results. During the event, the top card players receive the chance at higher payout per hole.
ROUND TWO: The second round will be a partner round. Details of the second round to be announced.
GRATITUDE
I would like to thank the WDSA Board of directors for the time and energy they put into the WI Disc Golf Tour each and every year. John Terlap is the score guru and Finale format engineer. Jim Van Lanen handles the web site and is this year’s Finale host.
Vendors this year are Pandamonium, Riverside Disc Shop, and Silver Cup. Thank you to Kevin Rynders and Josh Hamm for their top notch inventory and service. I Fling Plastic printed the banners this year and of course Innova made a trade of Black Discs in exchange for setting up the Innova Water Station at every WI Tour stop.
A big shout out to the people that kindly transported, set up or took down the Innova Water Station when one of the board members were not available. Brad Skrzypchak, Jayson Blake, Zak Bays, Matt Brody, Craig Lokken made the “Innova All Water Station Team.” If I missed someone, please let me know.
We have a great roster of Tournament Directors running the WI Tour tournaments. Thank you so much for the commitment. TD’s please thank your staff on behalf of the WI Disc Golf Tour.
This brings us to the heart and soul of disc golf in Wisconsin, you, the players. Thank you for joining the fun and games. Your donation of around $5000 to the Developmental Fund will be used in future disc golf projects and meaningful ways to help the growth of this very cool sport.
