About this tournament

Problem: you want to play in the USDGC Amateur Doubles Championships with your bestie, but she lives far away and you never get to see each other :(

Solution: Qualify during your practice round for the Throw Pink Women's Team Championship (which you're both obviously going to play in!)

Details:
This qualifier will be a flex start that takes place the day before the TPWTC, while the course is open for practice. Other players will be practicing for the main event-- We are NOT closing the course for the doubles rounds! Non-doubles practicing players will be made aware of the flex start and are asked to be respectful of the players participating.

Your entry fee includes two premium plastic Innova discs (one for each teammate) as well as paid greens fees for the entire day on both courses before/during/after your scheduled doubles round.

All teams will compete on the TPWTC layout of the Lula "OG" course.

New for 2026:
The top teams in the FA1, FA2, and FA40 divisions will receive invites to the USDGC Amateur Doubles Championship event held in Rock Hill, SC the week before USDGC. In 2026 the Main Event will be held Friday October 2nd thru Sunday October 4th. For FA1 teams, the USDGC Doubles Main Event is the only opportunity to compete at the famed Winthrop Arena Course decked out in all its USDGC Pageantry. For all other divisions, this is a chance to be a part of the famous USDGC event and play some of the best courses in Rock Hill South Carolina. Host courses for the Main Event competition tentatively will be the Riverbend Course at Camp Canaan, Westminster Park, the newly constructed Catawba Bend Preserve and the legendary Arena Course at Winthrop University.

The number of qualifier spots will depend on the final number of entrants (see below). Teams are responsible for determining their own USDGC Amateur Doubles eligibility (see below). Find all the information for USDGC Amateur Doubles here: https://usdoubles.com/

Scoring:
The event is not PDGA sanctioned^, and will use uDisc for scoring.

Ties:
Since this is a flex start, ties for the first and last qualifying position will be broken in the following manner:
-Fewest bogies (entire round)
-Sudden death scores, working backwards from 18 (example: best score on 18; if tied best score on 17; if tied best score on 16 etc.)

Qualifier Spots: (updated for 2026)
The number of qualifier spots will depend on the final number of entrants in each division:

FA1, FA2, FA40:
1-3 Teams = 1 Team qualifies
4-7 Teams = 2 Teams qualify
8+ Teams – 3 Teams qualify

Eligibility:
All players must meet one of the following criteria to be eligible to compete in the USDGC Amateur Doubles Main event:
•The Player is not a PDGA member or does not have a player rating AND has never accepted cash in a PDGA event.
•The player has an Amateur Player Classification with the PDGA - meaning the player is classified as an amateur and plays in amateur divisions for prizes instead of cash. If a player competes in a Pro division AND accepts cash at any time, they become classified as a Professional member. An Amateur class player has either never accepted cash, or if they have, they have later met the criteria to be reclassified from Professional back to Amateur with the PDGA.
•A mixed group of pro and am-class players is not allowed.
•Players who qualify as a team must play together as a team in the main event. No substitutions, no exceptions.
•Players may only qualify once for the USDGC Doubles Main Event

^Players will be asked to provide PDGA numbers for eligibility verification in the FA2 and FA40 divisions.
