8th annual Turkey Gizzard Open…the OCHO
Friends, when the leaves have fallen, the days have become shorter and you have to prepare yourself to congregate with family....it can only mean one thing, it's time for a tradition unlike any other: Turkey Gizzard Open!
From humble beginnings eight years ago when 6 people came together at Kerr Park to celebrate friendship, disc golf, and to get out of the house before debauchery ensued. Turkey Gizzard Open has grown to a premier event of the SE Pennsylvania disc golf community.
Turkey Gizzard Open is a one-round, non-sanctioned tournament that takes place at Kerr Park on Thanksgiving morning. Once again, we will be using variable tee times beginning at 6:30am and ending at 11am, teeing off every 10 minutes; this way we can accommodate everyone's holiday schedule.
Registration will be processed through Disc Golf Scene and will go live at https://www.discgolfscene.com/tournaments/Turkey_Gizzard_Open_2025_The_Ocho/register on November 6th at 8pm. Start getting your cards of 6 ready!
The entry fee this year is $15 for Amateur divisions (5 divisions) and $20 for Pros, we must have at least 3 players for a division. As always there will be an optional $5 ace pot, if no aces are hit during the tournament, we will raffle off the cash using the Wheel Of Fun! All participants will receive a Wawa Sandwich coupon at check in. Participants will be eligible for 14 CTP prizes during the round, there will also be 6 Ladies only CTP’s. We will pay out the top 30% in each division. $10 of your entry fee will be used for payouts and this money will stay in the division you select at registration. Additionally, $5 of your entry fee will be used as a donation for course fees, existing course maintenance, as well as new course development and future events!
As we have done in the past, we will be holding a food drive for The Lord's Pantry of Downingtown. Please bring canned or nonperishable food items to be donated. The person who brings the most items will win a prize!
This is one of our favorite events of the year and we hope to see everyone out there!
We will also be selling bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches so come hungry! Complimentary coffee will be provided by Char and Stave!
