About this tournament

IMPORTANT THIS TOURNAMENT IS FOR FAYETTEVILLE AND SURROUNDING LOCAL CLUBS/PLAYERS (CUMBERLAND, HARNETT, HOKE, LEE, MOORE, ROBESON, & SCOTLAND COUNTIES.) IT IS A BRACKET-STYLE DOUBLE ELIMINATION MATCH PLAY TOURNAMENT THAT WILL SPAN 5-7 WEEKS WITH A ROUND TO BE SCHEDULED AND PLAYED FOR TEAMS WHO PROGRESS EACH WEEK.
IMPORTANT EACH BRACKET ROUND LASTS 7 DAYS. A TEAM WILL BE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE ONE MATCH AGAINST THEIR OPPONENT DURING THAT 7 DAY SPAN, SEND RESULTS VIA U-DISC SCORE CARD, AND IF NOT ELIMINATED, WILL MOVE TO THE NEXT ROUND WITH ANOTHER 7 DAY SPAN TO COMPLETE THEIR MATCH AGAINST THEIR NEW OPPONENT
The Fayetteville Dubz Cup is a bring your own partner bracket-style DOUBLE ELIMINATION match play tournament.
This event is unsanctioned, and the entirety of the tournament will last for 5-7 weeks depending on number of entrants. There are no divisions, so choose your partner wisely!
Initial matchups and Bracket will be live, filmed, and randomly drawn on Thursday August 14th at 8:00 PM.
Once registration is closed and the Bracket is issued, each team will have one week (FRI-THURS) to complete their first round at any course they desire. It is each team's responsibility to coordinate when and where they will play (yes, you choose the location). Results will be posted to both Fayetteville Disc Golf Facebook Pages as well as posted in a Tournament text group chat. Opponents will be posted in the tournament group chat via Facebook Messenger each Thursday night prior to the following round.
THE CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND WILL BE PLAYED AT GLENVILLE PINES ON THE LONG POSITION LAYOUT AND IF THE WINNER'S BRACKET REACHES THE FINALS UNDEFEATED, THEY WILL HAVE TO BE BEATEN TWICE. BOTH CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHES WILL HAVE TO BE PLAYED IN THE FINAL WEEK.
Scoring will be on U-Disc and it will be each team's responsibility to send in their scores via the tournament group chat after each completed round.
Standard PDGA Rules apply to play and scoring will be on U-Disc, match play rules are as follows:
Match Play Format/Rules:
Match play is a spinoff of traditional disc golf where players earn points for beating each other on individual holes rather than tallying up stroke totals through an entire round. In match play, a pair of players competes against each other in an effort to win each hole during the round. The player who wins more holes wins the match. You win a hole by completing it in the fewest number of strokes, and you win a match when you are winning by more holes than remain to be played.
If teams tie a hole, there will be no carryover for next hole won meaning no points awarded for tied holes and a maximum of 1 point awarded per hole
In the event of a tie at the end of the round, each team will start on hole 1 and continue play until a winner is determined.
Entry fee is $50 per team.
$5 per team will go toward trophy and tournament admin.
$45 per team will go to payout.
*THERE WILL BE NO PLAYER'S PACK! THIS IS A HEAVY CASH PRIZE AND BRAGGING RIGHTS TOURNAMENT*
The top 3 teams will receive Payout and there will be Trophies. The payout will pay 65% of pot to 1st, 25% of pot to second, and 10% of pot to third. Third place will be decided by match between the two losing teams that reach the final four. The max field is 32 teams. Payout example is as follows:

1st Place: $936
2nd Place: $360
3rd Place: $144

Refund policy
No Refunds unless there are not enough participants to fill a bracket and run the event. In this case, everyone who did sign up will receive refunds.
