Greetings,
Cancelling the event due to low interest. All refunds have been issued. If you still want a dyed rollo/sticker, let me know and we can work something out.
The "Roller" Derby at Valley Regional is an unsanctioned tournament at, you guessed it, Valley Regional Park in Taylorsville, Utah. This is a low cost of entry event with a quirky format intended to encourage you to have fun with your shot choice off the tee. Here is the gimmick: If you throw a roller (forehand, backhand, cut roller, etc) off the tee pad, it does not count towards your score.
This means if you throw a roller off the tee, then make a putt as your next shot, that's scored as a "1" on your scorecard. If you opt to throw an air shot instead, it counts as a standard stroke. This course layout will also feature a few temporary "mandos" that you have to navigate around. If you throw a roller, but miss the mando with it, you would advance to the marked drop zone, but only you would only incur the penalty stroke, meaning your next throw would be for 2 rather than 3 if you missed the mando with an air shot.
Lot of to unpack there, but it's pretty intuitive.
Each player will be given a custom dyed Innova Champion Rollo (Factory 2nd) that they can use during the event. You are free to use any disc of your choosing during the event, though. Rollers are a personal preference and highly impacted by the wind, so we want you to be able to have good choices available to you.
Any money collected over the cost of the player discs, park reservation and incidentals (flags, paint, printing) will go to park maintenance (locks, keys, lube).
Separate buy-in for cash CTPs is optional. There will be disc CTPs for all included with entry.
The event will be held rain or shine. All refunds must be requested before the event registration closes, or you can make alternate arrangements to collect your Rollo and a complimentary high five.
This event will be scored pen and paper, as uDisc does not "support this format, but thinks it sounds fun"
