About this tournament

Hello everybody!

The Fling XXV is this week! 25 Years of The Fling!!
I'm very excited to have you all out at Chavez Ridge once again.
Been working hard on the course as always and it's gonna be a great day of disc golf.

First thing I want to mention is that we are doing PDGA Live Scoring.
This is the new normal and makes it much easier for everyone. Please bring your phones charged and ready to keep score.
At least 1 person per card needs to keep score.
Paper scorecards will be provided as well for old school souls.

https://www.pdga.com/score
Code: FLINGXXV

Shotgun Start at 8:30 sharp.
Hole Assignments are up on PDGA
https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/62824

If you need to withdraw you have until Wed the 19th at 7pm to request it and still get a full refund. Only a half refund if you withdraw after that until Friday at 7pm then there will be no refunds at that point.
No day of registration.

Everyone must check in at tournament central with Cliff. From 7AM to 8:15AM in the lower section of the park.
AMs get your player packs and pros let us know you're there.
I'll also be around to answer any questions or guide you to your hole if needed.

Please bring lots of water and snacks, 2 rounds of 22 Holes will be a long day. Also wear good shoes and sunscreen! It's only supposed to get to 70° out but still will be exhausting.

Taco Lunch is for everyone!

2nd Round will start One Hour after the last card is in.
Hopefully around 1pm.

There will also be a disc swap going on from our friends at Oak Grove at Lunch.
In their words.
"The disc swap is an opportunity for experienced players to exchange their discs while helping new players, kids, players in need and organizations in need of discs. If you have a connection to people in need we would be happy to hook you up.
You give 2 discs and take 1, essentially trading 1 and donating 1. Please only turn in good, usable discs. We don’t care if they are inked, but they should not look like a dog chew toy.
With support from people like you we have donated hundreds of discs in the last year. "

We'll have tournament fundraiser discs as well as Chavez Club merch to help us pay for new tee signs!

Payouts, Prizes, and Trophies will be given out immediately after all scores are finalized.
Pros will receive cash, with $500 added thanks to Headwind Disc Golf, Disc Sports in Southern California, and Nothing But Chains Disc Golf.
AMs stick around for prize packs even if you didn't take 1st, we're 'paying' out deep.

Thanks to Discmania for hooking up the player pack and fundraiser discs.
And hanks to Discovering the World!

Now to the Layout...
22 Holes - Par 67
A mix of Regular Chavez Holes, Chavez Safari Holes, and Holes in the bottom park area we only get to play twice a year.
There will be Blue Tee Signs on every Hole.
Follow the Red Arrows to the next Tee.
The layout is on UDisc to check out and follow. Lower Park Baskets and Tees will be in the morning of.
The only Basket that will change Pin Position for the 2nd Round is on Hole #15 which is the Regular Chavez Hole #7. It will go from the Lower Stump to the Upper Stump.
Attached is a Hole Rundown with the Distances and any OB and such.
All Paved Roads, including the Curb, are OB. Playgrounds are OB.
There are only 2 Holes with Artificial OB Ropes.
And 1 Hole that's an Island with a Drop Zone.
No 2 Meter Rule.
Only 3 Minutes to look for Lost Discs. Very important to keep the flow going.
Always take a Provisional if you have an issue.
If there's an Unplayable Lie, like under the container or in a garbage can, play from the First Available Lie away from the Basket.
All PDGA Rules apply.

Ok, please let me know of any and all questions.

See you on Saturday!
