About this tournament
1 round of play
Hosted by the Cranbury Park Disc Golf, the F.U. Winter Open is intended to be a low-key, late season PDGA C-Tier at one of Connecticut's hidden gems. Two rounds of 18 holes each.
The Fairfield University course has undergone numerous redesigns over the years to accommodate campus construction activities. However, the current layout is a par 56 that plays extremely fair with every hole a potential birdie or bogey.
Low entry fees and a reduced player field are intended to encourage locals and non-locals alike to come out and get in one last tournament before the new year. To increase division sizes, limited age-protection will be offered (MP50 and MA50 only).
EDIT: Due to low initial pre-registration, I will be modifying amateur player packs and payouts, and will not be doing them through Lucky Disc for this event. It's my intention to do something special/unique that Kraig Steffen used to do for Fairfield University events. I will be putting together a grab bag of unique discs that will have value as collectibles and/or throwers. Discs will include Innova tour series discs, Gateway PWP wizards, Sherwood Island Open 2018 discs, Discraft test flight discs, and some other extra special goodies.
Pro players will compete for cash prizes.
The PDGA $10 non-member/non-current fee will be in effect.
As this is not an ice bowl, should inclement weather be forecasted, or low pre-registration numbers occur, this event may be cancelled and/or postponed. Final decision will be made on Friday, December 19th.
