About this tournament

Welcome to the 2nd Annual Chemical Valley Classic, Hosted by Disc Golf Sports Center. This is a 2 Round, PDGA Sanctioned C-Tier event. This event is in recognition of the Kanawha Valley's role in the Industrial Development of our country. The Kanawha ("Chemical") Valley proved to be an industrial hub during WW I and WW II: producing TNT (Nitro); the Naval Ordnance Plant (later known as the Charleston Ordnance Center) played a vital role during both World Wars producing gun barrels for U.S. warships, this plant was later used for the production of armored vehicles and automobile parts; Charleston's first chemical manufacturer began operation in 1913; 3 years later, the Libbey-Owens-Ford glass manufactory was built; Owens Bottle Company, opened in 1917.
