About this tournament

Welcome to the Challenge on 605. This will be a one-division, singles tournament following PDGA rules with no 2-meter rule. All are welcome, but the field is going to be limited to 20 players so don’t wait to sign up. This will be our last event of the season so don’t miss out on the opportunity to play one of the few private courses in the Columbus area.

For the first round, we will be playing a 10-hole, par-3 layout that everyone will play through twice for a total of 20 holes. This will be a slightly modified version of the layout used during the BHMO fundraiser event that took place in May. The layout is fun for all skill levels with the longest hole playing about 300 feet. For those interested, you can check out the course preview that was made earlier this year. Only the top eight (8) scores from the first round will move on to the second round. Any players tied for 8th place will have a sudden death playoff to narrow the field down to eight (8) players. We will reconfigure the course to play a brand new 13-hole layout for the second round. This new layout includes five par 4s and is significantly longer than the layout played during the first round. I will be sending out additional information about this course to everyone registered prior to the event.

The entry fee is $50 with 100% going to the payout. If the event fills, all eight (8) players that make the cut will at least get their money back. Thanks to the continued generosity of Gaige McNutt and Steve Penland, there will be a CTP for all ten (10) holes during the first round. additionally, there will be an optional $5 ace fund for the first round only. If no ace is hit during the first round, there will be a throw-off for the full ace fund immediately following the first round.

The goal is for this to be a fun event for everyone. Anyone who does not make the second round is more than welcome to hangout for the afternoon to watch the action unfold. The 13-hole layout will also be left up after the second round if anyone wants to continue playing after the event.

Finally, I want to thank my wife Georgia and daughters McKinley and Cora for helping me with another disc golf event at our home. I would not be having these events without their help and support. I also want to thank Charlie Rumery and his family for once again allowing us to use their property for part of the course. If any of you know Charlie or see him at the event, please be sure to thank him.
