Have you heard of the legend? The legend of The Catcher on the Fly! The Catcher on the Fly, first annual, is a tournament that pays respects to North Regional Park Disc Golf Course’s (aka Cottage Grove DGC's) colorful history and exciting future. For those that were there and have witnessed the sensation that is and was, 'The Grove," can harken back to events that sailed the high seas, but also experience a fresh take on how this course has grown and evolved over these many years. And, who knows? Maybe you’ll even get a glimpse of a catcher on the fly. Cheers to everyone and here’s to the beginning of new traditions and a bright future for this landmark disc golf course called, ‘The Grove,’
On this April Fool’s Day tournament, you’re encouraged to dress up in a costume and enjoy not only helping raise some funds for the rejuvenated course, but potentially win a few added prizes. Fun is the name of the game.
Since this tournament doubles as a competitive C tier sanctioned event and a course fundraiser, $5 from each player goes to course maintenance and upcoming improvement; likewise, tee sponsorships and fundraiser disc purchases go directly to the cause.
AMs receive two tournament stamped discs and onsite scrip for top finishers.
Pros play for cash.
