About this tournament
Lowcountry Disc Golf is happy to welcome you back to the 3rd year of the Canterbury Classic.
Canterbury Woods has become one of the favorite courses for local Lowcountry Disc Golfers.
If you’re one of the growing group of locals that’s been coming out to Thursday Dubs, then you already know how much fun we have out there.
If you’ve not had the chance to play this fun 9 hole course, then this is a great opportunity for you to come out and see what the buzz is about.
This is our 3rd year for this tournament and because of good folks like you, we’ve seen it grow more each year.
Even though Canterbury is known more for its weekly Thursday dubs, this will be a 2 round, sanctioned, singles tournament.
Now I know what you’re thinking …. ‘’ 2 rounds . If it’s going to be 2 rounds , I’m going to need plans for lunch.’’
Well , Forget about it.
We’ve got your lunch covered on this one.
Lowcountry Disc Golf will be providing lunch for this tournament.
This is one of the ways that we show our appreciation for a disc golf community who has shown us so much love and support throughout the years.
Our plan is to have a grill set up and to be cooking up burgers and dogs for you all.
After everyone has a chance to eat, we’ll head back out on the course and play the 2nd round.
One thing different about this tournament is that we are charging $20 instead of our normal $10.
The extra money that we collect in registration fees will go directly to course maintenance at the Canterbury course for the upcoming 2025 disc golf season.
Many of you are aware of the fact that the course started out as a 6 hole course that went around the Canterbury club house.
Last year, we added 3 more baskets making it a 9 hole course.
Although the neighborhood association does a good job keeping the original 6 holes maintained, the other 3 are our responsibility.
It takes time and money to keep the field cut and the ditch cleared out on 4 and 5.
This is of great importance so we don’t spend all day looking for discs in the high grass that likes to grow there.
So come on out and join us as we celebrate another fun year of disc golf at Canterbury Woods.
