    9 hole 'Birdie Blitz' flexi-start fun tournament. Great for locals or if you are in Taupō early for an extended event prep! Play two Blue 9 rounds - only your best one counts. Non-registered players are totally welcome to be part of this warm up event too ($10 entry). Great prizes on offer!

    Practice day. Both Spa Park and Taupō Golf Club courses will be fully setup and available to play under tournament conditions.

    3:30pm - 5:30pm at Spa Park

    $1,000 'Invitational Skins' exhibition game at Spa Park, presented by Cosana Premium Honey. Five of our best and brightest personalities go head to head over 9 holes to take home early bragging rights and a fat stack of cash! A big gallery is expected for what should be a super fun and not to be missed warm up event!

    6:00pm - 9:00pm at Taupo Golf Club

    Player check-in at Event HQ, collect your player packs, meet greet and mingle with fellow players, soak up the atmosphere, followed by the official event opening and mandatory players meeting at 8pm (live streamed and posted online for those that can't attend).

    $1,000 'Hole in One' Party, sponsored by Garage Project. Come along to Event HQ to join in on the fun, step up to take your chance to win the (literal) grand prize! DJ, disc vendor stands, food trucks, on site bar and good vibes.

Taupō Disc Golf and Disc Shop Disc Golf are proud to announce details of the 2023 Taupo-nui-a-Tia Disc Golf Classic, which will double as the 2023 NZDG North Island Championships and be presented by Discmania. This three day event is sanctioned by both the PDGA (A-Tier) and NZDG (Major).

We are very excited to be able to play on both the world class Spa Park course, and return to the Taupō Golf Club for our Event HQ and a modified and expanded 21 hole layout on the Tauhara course. Our new format will allow us to host a field of close to 300 entrants, making this one of the largest celebrations of Disc Golf that New Zealand has ever seen. Come along and be part of the action! Having people with similar abilities in the same divisions makes for great competition. As a guide, you may want to consider the following when choosing which (non aged based) division to enter: MPO above 930, MA1 above 900, MA2 above 800, MA3 below 800. It also helps the event flow smoothly as hole difficulty (via layout options) can be matched appropriately.

Please note that PDGA membership through to the end of 2023 is required (as per international A-Tier requirements).

Refund policy

1. Taupō Disc Golf is responsible for all refunds and cancellations, and refunds are handled through players Disc Golf Scene registration.
2. All registration booking fees are non-refundable. Only event fees will be refunded.
3. All additional event merchandise purchased at registration is non-refundable. We will work with those who withdraw to ensure they receive their purchased merchandise.
4. Waitlist players who do not get into the event will have their $30 waitlist charge refunded.
5. Cancellations before 1st January 2023 will be refunded less a $10 handling fee.
6. Cancellations after 1st January 2023 will be refunded less a $10 handling fee only if the player's spot is filled. If a players spot is not filled, we will follow PDGA event policy to make a final decision on refund amount www.pdga.com/rules/competition-manual/103
7. Any ‘no-shows’ forfeit all entry fees and player pack.
8. Players who withdraw after 1st March 2023 will not receive a refund or players pack as tee times and divisions are finalised from this date.
9. The tournament directors and event coordinators have discretion in regards to extenuating circumstances.

This is a major event on the NZDG calendar, with players travelling from all over New Zealand and overseas to be part of it. Our refund policy considers that last minute cancellations will make it difficult for replacement players to sort transportation and accommodation with minimal notice.
