About this tournament

The Turkey Bash Shootout is a fun event for the whole family. Format will be doubles, best throw, playing Birdie Bash rules and is all about aggressive play. Every throw is an attempt at a hole in one or a birdie. Tee boxes will be closer (all Red), all baskets will be the easier/closer option, and no mandos or out of bound rules…pure, Go For It Fun! Optional Ace Pot.

Triples will be allowed if young, injured, or a very inexperienced player is the third player.

Thursday, Nov. 26, 2026 - Schedule

7-7:30am Check In (it's just getting light at 7am)

7:35am Player’s meeting - Cards created; two teams per card. Teams of two/three players will be organized. (Exception example: If a dad has two young players, they can be a three-some)

7:45am Shotgun start. Physical scorecard will be used. Turkey Bash course is on UDisc but point system can mess up your score history.

How to play the Turkey Bash
Only throw twice (despite the stated par). There are no points possible on third throw. Pick up disc and move on; NO SLOW PLAY.

Two teams per card. Write the name of both teams on a card, no individual names. Each player on each team throws from tee box. Go to disc closest to the basket and pick up the further discs. All players on team throw from the second disc lie. Only count points from one player. Example: If all team members hit the chains, you only get one point. Circle any aces.

To score points, throw one of the following:
• Ace/Eagle (hole in one): 5 points (circle score)
• Birdie (in basket in second throw): 2 points
• Metal Hit (including sign on top & support pole): 1 point each time/per throw
• If no points are scored on a hole, the team whose disc is closest to the pin after both groups complete their two throws: 1 point

SCORING EXAMPLES
Example 1: Your drive hits the basket but does not go in. You drain your birdie putt. You earn 3 points: 1 point for the metal hit on the drive, 2 points for the birdie.

Example 2: Your drive lands far away from basket. Your 2nd shot is straight but low and hits the metal post. You earn 1 point. Do NOT putt out.

Example 3: No one in your foursome hits the basket or any metal part of the basket after two throws. Your disc is closest to the basket after the second throw. Your team earns 1 point; the other team on your card gets no points.

One player should be at the basket at each hole as a spotter to see if metal contact is made (put any spectators to work if they are walking with you). Rotate this duty at each hole to share the workload.

Playing fields are expected to be active with football, so we are avoiding them.
