About this tournament
2 rounds of play
The past few years our CWE/WGE tournament has had abysmal weather. Here's to hoping the end of June is kinder to us! I resisted the urge to name this event anything with "water" in the title or water themed, just to be on the safe side!
This event will not have the pomp and circumstance nor the player's pack that our usual event boasts... but it will have all the love! I'm assembling a simple player's pack to keep costs low. Primal Disc Golf will also be onsite and I hope to include divisional CTPs too. The City of St. Catharines has arranged to have a washroom at the park for us, even on a Sunday, FREE OF CHARGE! They also felt bad that the weather didn't cooperate and truly care about Women's Disc Golf events in our city. If you do not have a PDGA membership or have not renewed it this year, The St. Catharines Women's Disc Golf Club will be paying any non-membership fees on your behalf. Keeping events affordable and removing barriers to play is a key pillar of our club.
Everyone will play one round of disc golf (from either the short yellow-bricked tees or the long concrete pads) in the morning and then we will have a minimum 60-minute break for lunch (from the last card finished) before beginning round 2 around 1:15. The layouts will be the same as those used for the CWE/WGE this year.
Water will be available throughout the course all day. Please bring a refillable water to help lessen our carbon footprint and carpool if possible. You also have the option to purchase a packaged lunch by Flavour Fuel. Gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian options are all available. The cost for lunch has been subsidized and includes tax, gratiuity and delivery. Lunch orders are packaged individually and will be delivered to the course in time for lunch.
During the lunch break, please take a moment to decorate a mini to assist with our fundraising. Add your name and PDGA number to the back. Following lunch, the second round of play will begin. For advanced divisions and PDGA-ranked players this round is mandatory, but for beginner and junior divisions it is optional. I will need some time to tabulate the winners at the end (there will not be a raffle at this event) and a ceremony for the winners of each division will follow soon after. Adam Chainey will also be taking and sharing photos of the event with local media and all the participants. Watch for the photo link in an email following the event.
I will also require some volunteers to assist with the event. I will need a few spotters on certain holes to keep an eye out for discs as well as a few volunteers familiar with the course and scoring on PDGA Live to assist new players. We do have some water on the course and a few discs made need retrieval. Runners for CTP flags, caddies, and other duties will be essential to help the day run smoothly. Lunch and shirts will be provided for all volunteers and volunteer hours for any high school students.
PDGA $3/Player fee covered by the host club
$15 non-PDGA membership fee covered by the host club
Washroom fee donated by Counsellor Jackie Lindall, City of St. Catharines

Lunch costs reduced by $3-5 each order through fundraising and Flavour Fuel
Park fees $235.90 covered by fundraising
