About this tournament
1 round of play
Hello everyone!
Welcome to the Registration sign-up for the Shamrock Disc Toss Tournament. Registration will be opening on March 3rd, 2021.
We are excited for the second tournament of the year being held out in Okotoks-Riverside Disc Golf Course, which is a short wooded, 9 hole course requiring some technical shots. We are hoping to provide a fun, beginner friendly, two round tournament for newbies and experienced disc golfers alike. Our prize packs will include beginner discs so please invite out all of your friends and grow the sport!
Format
This tournament will involve a best shot singles/doubles round in the morning with tee times ranging from 9am - 12pm followed by an ace race round in the afternoon with tee times from 12:30pm - 3:30pm. The ace race round will be played as singles or doubles depending on your registration. The tees will be shortened and the number of aces will be counted with metal hits (hitting the basket) used as a tiebreaker. Rules for both formats will be sent out shortly before the tournament.
Player Pack
Your registration for the tournament entitles you to a CDGC membership and a player package with a putter, a midrange and other swag courtesy of our sponsors. We will also be raffling off other prizes throughout the event. Your CDGC membership will give you access to benefits including access to future tournaments and events hosted throughout the year! This membership also provides funds to help improve and maintain local courses and develop new courses throughout the city.
If you’re an experienced player and you’re looking for more advanced discs, the 2-for-1 beginner disc exchange program run by the CDGC has a large selection of discs for trade. They will be available at the tournament and can be found on the CDGC Facebook page. See links at the bottom of the page.
Registration
Registration is either done in the single or doubles divisions. ALL players wishing to play must register, including doubles individually. As a doubles registrant, please register with your partner and note your partner's name in the comments. Registrants with a current CDGC membership will be receiving an email with a discount code to use upon registration.
Player Safety
At this difficult time, we are working diligently to keep your safety and the safety of the community as a whole a top priority. Please follow the rules outlined as strictly as possible to help us make your tournament a success! Be advised that all social distancing measures as outlined on the Government of Alberta website must be adhered to at all times. See below for details:
https://www.alberta.ca/assets/documents/covid-19-information-guidance-for-winter-recreation.pdf
We intend on enforcing these rules with volunteers and conveners to keep everyone safe and happy! Please be aware that we may also be subject to cancellation due to COVID-19 and refunds will be processed accordingly.
Tee times will be assigned the week before the tournament in groups of four players in ten minute intervals. Please do not arrive more than 20 minutes before the assigned tee time to keep large groups to a minimum. The groups will be leaving promptly at the tee times so do not be late!
We hope to keep the event safe, inclusive and fun for all those involved! Thank you for your part in making this happen. See you out there on the course!
