About this tournament
2 rounds of play
The day:
A full day of fun down riverside park hosted by the FDGC, you will recieve everything you have come to expect from us, a small players pack, lunch, mini games, prizes and trophys!
This one is not to be missed
Format:
In matchplay, you play one-on-one against your opponent first matches are based on your pdga rating if no rating then we will go on known information such as league position or your average score at riverside, remember this is fun and a good day out slinging plastic
par doesn't matter; you just have to shoot less than the other person to win each hole. And this year, for the first time at the Scottish Matchplay, anyone can win the whole tournament! Where previously everyone was in divisions of 8 for the matchplay, this year is a wide open event. We're hoping for some big giant-killing upsets…
Everyone will play 2x18 holes like any other event, but that'll be split into shorter matches (e.g. of 6 or 9 holes) against different opponents. It's not as complicated as it sounds and we'll make it all really simple on the day. Trust us, it'll all make sense!
And don't worry if you get knocked out by Rick Rick in the first round. Everyone keeps playing placement matches, and every player who wins their last match - whether it's a 1v2 final or a 31v32 match to avoid coming last - wins a prize! There'll also be bigger prizes for people who win more games.
