About this tournament
1 round of play
Hello Everyone!
Its time for the 3rd annual Santa's Disc Drive, Family PDGA C-Tier!
This a tournament with 2 purposes.
First and foremost, we want to give the adults a chance to play. All year we have hosted multiple junior only events and parents have shown up to support their kids every time. This time, adults can sign up with a junior or a family member that is playing in FA4 through FA1. Let me repeat that, adults can sign up with a junior or female amatuer. Every Amateur division will be available as long as you are signed up with a junior. Does that mean only one adult per junior? No. If there is a junior playing, then you can sign up anyone who wants to play that has relation to the junior. That said, this event will fill quickly, so DON'T WAIT to sign up!
*Note - if you sign up without a junior, you will be refunded and removed from the tournament. No exceptions.
Second, as the name implies, we want to help the Paul McBeth Foundation with a disc drive. The PMF is a non-profit started by Paul McBeth to bring the sport that we all love to those less fortunate who may never have access to the game. They do this by building free courses, donating discs, and giving time to teach the sport to local communities where they install the course. You've no doubt heard of canned food drives, or toy drives. The mission of the disc drive is to donate discs (preferably new) to the Paul McBeth Foundation. So I ask everyone who signs up to bring a new disc to throw in the bin that will be shipped to the PMF for their future endeavors! There will be an additional option to donate money to the PMF. Nomad Disc Golf will match whatever is raised.
As we usually do, we will have multiple layouts for the different divisions ranging from short (all Par 4s) for the youngest, to Long and difficult for the older kids and MA2/MA1 divisions. There will be many CTP prizes, a big ace pot, and a huge raffle. Raffle prizes will include an Axiom HD Pro basket, backpacks, clothing, discs, and 1 very special secret prize!
We are going to do this tournament a little different from the last few this year with regard to player's packs. This year's player's packs will be big! Not only big, but you can choose your favorite brand and your player's pack will have at least some of that brand (as supplies last).
We will follow the same format as last year. Rather than grouping everyone by division, we will group by family (unless someone expressly does not want to be group with family). The below is a ROUGH schedule of events:
7 am - Check-In, get players packs
7:45 am - Players meeting
8 am - Shotgun Start Round 1
12pm - Lunch break
12:45 pm - Players meeting
1 pm - Shotgun Start Round 2
4 pm - Payouts, Award Ceremony, and Raffle
Tournament fees include permit fees and players pack costs.
Please let me know if you have any questions and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Can't wait to see everyone in December!
