We moved locations for safety, to reduce the walk in to the course (with needing to bring in all the event gear and player's packs), and not knowing if the river would be going down in time to even park at the back entrance let alone the front entrance. I know the river level is the biggest concern and the unknown amount of rain this coming week. Wheatland is definitely the better course and almost no wet spots on the course, but without the ability to enter the course in a reasonable manner and not a lot of parking by the ferry, we needed to make the change.
With the location change there are a few things to remember:
1) The Champoeg course is pretty marshy and flooding in areas but I did traverse the course with a stroller and baby and was able to manage, and all the tee pads and signage are in great shape.
2) We need to play all the tee pads the same for both rounds and there will be flags to mark the correct tee pads and OB stakes and course mandos will be in play. Here is the way it will be laid out-
Hole 1: Long pad (path OB)
Hole 2: Long pad (Concrete parking lot OB)
Hole 3: Long pad (path OB)
Hole 4: Long pad Par 4 (OB)
Hole 5: Short (OB)
Hole 6: Short (stakes right side bushes OB)
Hole 7: Short pad Par 3 (water OB)
Hole 8: Short pad Par 3 (path and road OB)
Hole 9: Long pad Par 3 (path and road OB)
Hole 10: Short pad Par 3 Long pin (road OB)
Hole 11: Long pad (Mando, OB road and fence)
Hole 12: Long in stump (OB hill side and road)
Hole 13: Short in stump
Hole 14: Normal
Hole 15: Normal (OB road)
Hole 16: Short (Mando and OB road)
Hole 17: Long Par 3
Hole 18: Short pad 3 in stump

We will have tournament central and registration in the covered area and we will have an hour lunch after the last card is turned in after round 1. Even though the rounds are not sanctioned by the PDGA, all rules we be the same, no alcohol or drugs in a state park during the round, and we will have casual relief in the water except on hole 6 long and 7 to the right in the ditch.

Thank you for your flexibility and we are excited to be the first event in the Region! Enjoy your preparation this week!
