About this tournament

Hello and welcome to Round 5 of the 2024 Upstate Disc Golf Club league! We will be competing at Golden Grove DGC in Piedmont, SC, on the hybrid tee layout for this round.

Schedule: Check-in at the course will be from 9-9:45 am; there is a MANDATORY players meeting at 9:50, after which we will select cards. New for league this year, we will not be assigning cards ahead of time. At the end of the meeting, we will form cards and then assign starting holes and set the tee time so that everyone has plenty of time to get to their starting hole and warm up.

Divisions: We will be tracking PDGA scores all under the MA1 division to maximize the PDGA points participants can receive. A series-long champion will be determined for each PDGA-ratings based division based off participant's 5 best-rated rounds. Those divisions are as follows:
Gold: 970+ rating
Blue: 935-969
White: 900-934
Red: 850-899
Green: 800-849
Purple: 799 and below, no player rating players also

Payouts: Payouts are done for the top 25% of each PDGA ratings-based division. This means for 1-4 competitors we will pay out first place only, 5-8 1st and 2nd place and so on.

Cost: The league fee is $5, $1 to the PDGA and $4 to payout. There is an extra $1 fee for non-Upstate DGC members to cover club materials and maintenance at our area courses. Register for the Upstate Club at https://www.discgolfscene.com/tournaments/Upstate_Disc_Golf_Club_Membership_2024 .

In addition, there is a $1 Ace Pool and $1 cash CTP available. Ace pool funds will carry over from week to week if no aces are hit in that week. Round 10 will feature an ace pool CTP hole if no aces are hit; you will need to be paid into the Ace Pool for that week to win. Cash CTP will be won each week. Refunds will follow established PDGA guidelines from the PDGA Competition Manual and standards applicable for leagues.

Canned Food Drive: In addition to the cash CTP, we are doing a canned food drive CTP each week benefiting local food bank Loaves and Fishes Greenville, who supply food to a number of shelters and soup kitchens in the area. Bring two shelf stable/non-perishable food items to be entered into the CTP, which will pull from the Upstate DGC prize vault. Open to all league contestants. The CTP will be a different hole than the Cash CTP and will be marked.

Bag Tags: As the Upstate Club is using a digital bag tag system, all bag tags for club members are automatically in play. Track Bag Tags in the bag tag league in Disc Golf Scene.

Scoring: PDGA Live scoring will be used. As a reminder, starting in 2024 ALL card members must keep score, either themselves or their caddy/chaperone. Please try to use live scoring if possible; paper cards may be used instead if necessary.
