About this tournament

Playing in My Shoes is a free diverse event that reaches out to all abilities, ages, and income levels to promote inclusion and accessibility to disc golf. The event is designed to provide attendees with a sense of understanding of what it means to play in someone else’s shoes. This is the third annual event that celebrates and promotes disc golf diversity, accessibility, and inclusivity for all ages, income levels, and abilities to the sport. The clinic will be held at multiple courses across Canada for 3hrs from 11am till 2pm (Local Time Zone) during the first day of Canadian Accessibility Week on Sunday May 25, 2025.

Playing in My Shoes has 5 different throws that recognize different perspectives and to teach empathy by understanding another persons’ level of abilities. They consist of throwing from a Wheelchair or Chair, with Earplugs, with the Wrong Arm, with a Taped Hand, and with a Blindfold to a Sound Device. This will promote more inclusive thinking when designing new courses, more accessibility to sports amenities, and to make the world more accessible in general. The event also allows different ability levels to understand how inclusive, accessible, and supportive a sport Disc Golf is.
