About this tournament
2 rounds of play
This will be a two round doubles event at Bandits Cove, my favorite place to play disc golf :)
Welcome to a tournament that I have been dreaming up since this course was installed. Finally after 3 years it's coming into existence!! The winning team of each division will win handcuffs are their trophy.
Pick YOUR Partner in Crime and sign up in teams! If you want to play, but don't have a partner, please let me know and I can help you out :)
Divisions should be selected based off the combined skill set of the team. This can make it hard to decide what division to signup for. So, what division should you signup for?
NOOB - This is the division for teams who one in the partnership hasn't played disc golf ever. If you've played in a tournament, play more than once a summer, then this is not the division for you. A basis for this would be if you and your partners average disc golf rating would be less than 750 combined. PLEASE KEEP THIS DIVISION FOR NEW AND EXTREMELY INEXPERIENCED PLAYERS.
INT - If you and/or your partner are a rec player, play in a tournament every now and again, have a PDGA number, or have ever practice ever, then you should signup for this division. If your average PDGA rating is 750-850 then I'd recommend this division. If you and your partner play MA3 and MA2 in a PDGA event, then you should play here
ADV - You and your partner are pretty good at disc golf. If you and your partner would play MA2 and MA2 then this is where you should play.
OPEN - The professionals or the wannabe pros (that's me by the way:). I feel like the people who play in this division know who they are.
MIXED - If I have enough teams signup that want to be in a male/female, or female/female teams then I will add a mixed division for you guys.
If you have any questions on what division you and your teammate should play please let me know!
Round 1 will be a 'risk shot' round and round two will be a traditional 'best shot' round. We'll play a 16 hole modified blue, red, and gold layout. The layout is on UDisc called the 'Bandits Mix'.
A risk round is a new format of doubles that I was introduced to last year by Kelby Nielson (shoutout to a real one). Partner A will throw, then as a team, you will assess your shot and decide if Partner B should throw. If Partner B throws, then you MUST throw from Partner Bs lie. Partner A's lie is considered null as if it never happened. Alternate who is Partner A for the rest of the round and continue play and assessing your risk and reward potential.
For best shot, both partners will throw and you and your partner play from the lie that you choose. It's the most popular form of disc golf doubles.
I am excited to see everyone out there and please let me know if you have any questions!
