The Old Oak Spring Warm Up 6 is officially happening on March 15th, and it’s bringing the chaos in the best possible way. This is a Bring-Your-Own Doubles disc golf showdown, meaning you pick your partner wisely… or blame them loudly all day. With five different divisions, there’s a home for everyone—from seasoned sharpshooters to teams just hoping not to lose a disc in the first three holes. Add in an absolutely incredible course designed to be fun, fair, and just challenging enough to make you question your life choices, and you’ve got the perfect way to kick off the season. Stretch first, talk trash responsibly, and get ready—spring starts at Old Oak.

A little history:
What was once supposed to begin at Big Run Golf Course ultimately led us somewhere even more meaningful. After repeated attempts to connect were brushed aside by the previous ownership at Big Run, Sean and I found ourselves frustrated and discouraged. Leaving that meeting, I drove home annoyed and, on a mission,—and on a complete whim, I stopped at Old Oak Country Club.

Al happened to be sitting there that day. That simple, unexpected moment marked the beginning of a relationship that has grown into what our disc golf community now shares with Old Oak. From that day forward, Old Oak became the home of our first major event of the year and a cornerstone of our season.

After a lot of convincing to get Sean on board for a singles one day and doubles the second day style event. Mr. Sean Callahan and Mr. Leo Borowski had the incredible vision for what became the Dog Bowl—an event that means even more knowing both of their families have adopted animals as a direct result of it. With the help and dedication of Ryan Fancher, that vision became a reality.

The original plan was modest: a singles fundraiser for the Greater Joliet Tour Series and a doubles event to support local courses and projects. Six years later, the Dog Bowl weekend has become one of my favorite event weekends—one that continues to raise money for an incredible cause and bring the community together after the long winter break.

This mission has even extended into my own family. My daughter and her Girl Scout troop have been selling cookies and donating the proceeds to the Will County Humane Society, further reinforcing what this event weekend represents.

Al and Dan from Old Oak have been nothing short of amazing to work with. Together, Sean, Leo, Ryan, and I invested countless hours designing a course that isn’t just about long drives or “big arms,” but one that is fun, accessible, and still challenging for players of all skill levels.

None of this would be possible without Old Oak Country Club and the incredible people who make up our community. What started as a setback turned into something truly special—and we couldn’t be more grateful. Divisions and information below are subject to change. Staff also reserves the right to move you to a different division.

: YOU WILL NEED TO TAKE BOTH OF YOUR RATINGS AND ADD THEM TOGETHER to be eligible for a division. If you don't have a PDGA rating that is OK play what you think you should. If there is an issue the tournament staff will move you to the division, you should be in.

Lower Division - combined Rating below 1859

Upper and 50+ divisions will be playing from the longer tees, all other divisions will be playing from the shorter tees.
- Lower you could convince me to play the long tee's if enough interest.
