About this tournament
2 rounds of play
We are back for the 5th annual fundraiser event with a different and very worthy organization to support. The Oakridge Disc Golf Club is proud to sponsor the Oakridge Food Pantry, a local non profit chapter of Food for Lane County. The Oakridge Food Pantry’s (aka Oakridge Food Box) mission is to serve the under served of the greater Oakridge and Westfir area by providing much needed groceries with compassion. https://www.foodforlanecounty.org/location/oakridge-food-pantry-hwy-58/
So, what does this have to do with veterans? Well, in the Oakridge/Westfir area, veterans make up a large percentage of the population that qualify and utilize the services of the Oakridge Food Box, therefore, qualifying this local organization for the V for V cause. Let’s fill the pantry and let’s make a difference.
Following in the footsteps of the Trilogy Challenge, Veterans for Vets is an event designed to meet three goals.
First, it gives disc golfers a chance to play in an organized event during the winter months.
Second, it provides an awesome environment for a disc golfer without any tournament experience to play in an organized, unsanctioned event.
Finally, it provides an opportunity for a local disc golf community to raise money that gets returned to a local, non profit organization that serves veterans.
$5 from each player will go towards facility rental (park and portable toilets)
AMs and Juniors get the V for V players pack and trophy for top finisher in each division.
Pros get the V for V players pack and cash ($10 from each player goes into divisional cash pools) for top finishers in each division. First place trophies only
There will be premium fundraiser discs and special raffle items available with all proceeds going directly to the cause. So, bring extra cash and come away with a little something to remember the occasion by.
In addition to raising funds for the local vet organization, this tournament will also double as the Oakridge Disc Golf Club 2026 Opener; $20 for a bag tag option is available with registration.
