About this tournament
4 rounds of play
Welcome to the Nickel City Skins Series. This event will be run with a skins format with 2 rounds taking place at Twin Stacks, and 2 rounds taking place at the new, to be announced Nickel City Disc Golf Course.
Greens fees for Twin Stacks are not included. Day pass or membership is required
In a skins game, players will each complete their hole in as few as strokes as possible. The player with the lowest stroke count on the hole wins the "skin". A hole with more than 1 player with the lowest score "pushes" the skin to the next hole where the previous skin(s) is added to the next whole's skin count. The order of throw will change from every whole. The player who throws first will be the last to throw on the subsequent hole.
This event will introduce another unique quality to play. Hollywood Style: Players will have the option to play from long or short tees on every hole. All holes will be considered a par 3. A 3 is a par regardless of which tee is played; but a 2 (birdie) from long tees will trump a 2 from shorts. If there is no long tee available, then regular skins rules apply. With this in mind, there is some strategy to take into consideration.
The event will operate best with even cards of 4. We will set an initial cap of 16 players and only open it up to 20 if we have 4 on the wait list. We will continue to increase the event capacity so long as cards of 4 are filled.
The dates for the event will be the first Thursday of the month (to compliment the Match Play Series at the end of the month).
June 4 Twins Stacks
July 2 TBA
Aug 6 Twin Stacks
Sep 3 TBA
If for some unforeseeable reason a match cannot be completed on the schedule date, opponents may complete round at an alternate time (must be communicated with the event organizers and not a regular occurrence
-this is not a flex start)
Each week we do a random draw to determine cards of 4.
No money is paid out initially.
Each round, players will accumulate skins won and report them to the TD for tracking. After the 4th round, the top 4 skin earners will compete in a 18 hole skins round to play for the cash where the money will be paid out for each skin won.
The date for the Finals is TBD
