NZDG Juniors Event - Dunedin Leg ... Hosted by Disc Golf Dunedin & WFC Disc Golf
Brockville Park Ripirere Wero Disc Golf Park, Dunedin
Saturday, April 5th, 2025
Disc Golf Dunedin and WFC Disc Golf are thrilled to announce that Dunedin will be hosting one of five NZDG Juniors Events across the country, a dedicated initiative to grow youth participation in disc golf. With the generous support of the Professional Disc Golf Association's Marco Polo Grants and RPM Discs, this event is part of a nationwide effort to make disc golf more accessible, cost-effective, and engaging for young players.
As a PDGA C-Tier event, the Dunedin tournament will contribute to a national leaderboard, with round ratings determining final standings and awards across all five events.
Why Juniors?
Developing youth engagement is a crucial step in ensuring the long-term growth and sustainability of disc golf in New Zealand. By increasing junior participation, clubs and organisations gain stronger backing for funding proposals, collaboration with local councils for course development, and potential access to new, targeted funding streams. This grassroots effort is a key step toward disc golf's recognition as a mainstream sport in NZ and the future development of a high-performance program.
Dunedin has already shown strong commitment to youth disc golf through initiatives like the Otago Schools Disc Golf League, led by Kelvin Cummings, and this event will build upon that momentum.
Get Involved!
Volunteers are essential to making this event a success. Whether you can help with registration, spotting, scoring, or mentoring young players, your support will make a difference. If you're interested in contributing, please get in touch!
Full National Event Schedule:
