About this tournament
Just a few basic things to make sure you're ready for the event. Note, this document is also found at: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1SUc5rSMJFfXvR_J2_rYW4YNiDrLjM4ro9ioDbaHiHOY/edit?usp=sharing
-If you are unable to attend, please go to Disc Golf Scene and withdraw or let me know immediately via text at 612-850-8795
-I will be set up from roughly 8:00-9:00am if you have any questions or need any discs. PLEASE attend the Players Meeting at 9:10am. This meeting is brief, but will have some important information. After that, proceed to your hole by 9:28am for the two-minute warning.
-Your starting holes for round one are posted at https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/78810 now, but PLEASE be sure to check again before going out to your holes. Last minute drops/adds could potentially change something.
-We will be using PDGA Digital Scorecard for this event. Simply go to pdga.com/score or download the PDGA Live app. If you are unfamiliar with this, feel free to look at the brief tutorial on the PDGA website at https://www.pdga.com/apps/tournament/score/help. But don't stress. It is fantastic and super easy to use. Just go to either option mentioned above and type in our access code: cpadams
-Be sure to CONFIRM each player's round at the end of the round. This is VERY important.
-Reminder that ALL players must keep score, according to PDGA Rule 808. https://www.pdga.com/rules/official-rules-disc-golf/808. If you have never accessed the PDGA Digital Scoreboard using the PDGA Live app, please download it right now and make sure it works for you.
Course / Layout Information:
-All divisions will be playing the LONG tees (except 15) during Round 1.
-MPO and MA1 will be playing LONG tees (except 15) during Round 2. All other divisions will be playing SHORT tees during Round 2.
-Because the long tee is not concrete yet, everyone will play the SHORT teepad on hole 15 both rounds.
-All ODD numbered holes (1, 3, 5, etc.) have the baskets in the A (short) position. All EVEN numbered holes (2, 4, 6, etc.) have the baskets in the B (long) position if such position exists (for example, hole 2 only has one position, so it is in the A position).
-The paved path is OB throughout the course. For most holes only ON the path is OB. However, for holes 6, 7, 8, and 9, ACROSS the path (the side opposite the basket) is also OB. This is for safety and flow of play.
-Holes 3, 6, 12, 16, 17, and 19 also have one or more Mandos. All Mandos are marked by trees or signs, and the restricted planes are perpendicular to the line of play and away from the fairway. Don’t overthink it. And when in doubt, throw a provisional.
This information will also be included in the PDGA Digital Scorecard. A map is available at the bottom of this message, as well as on Disc Golf Scene. Thanks to Richard Rasch at Custom Course Maps!
-Second round will start exactly one hour from when the last card is finalized. This time and your second round starting holes will be posted on the PDGA results page https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/78810, the PDGA Live app, and the PDGA Digital Scoreboard. It will be posted as soon as I know, and you will need to consult these to find your starting holes anyway, so give yourself as much time as possible and don't wait around to ask me when the next round starts. If you are ready to tee off one hour from when YOU finished, you are guaranteed to be in the clear.
-Payouts for open divisions are available in cash at the end of the day OR via PayPal. If you choose PayPal, please contact me after you leave to provide the necessary information. Payouts for AMs will be available onsite at the end of the day. You may redeem funny money or save it until another one of my events. Please note, if you save it until CCO it can only be used on CCO items, not with the other vendors that are there. The Minnesota Frisbee Association (MFA) booth will also be present for this event. Funny money can be redeemed with the MFA, but only the day of the event.
-This event is the kick-off of the Minnesota Summer Tour (MST), organized by the Minnesota Frisbee Association (MFA). Every PDGA event in Minnesota from now until the Minnesota State Championships is an opportunity to build points toward year-end payouts and selection for the Mider Cup!!! However, you can only earn points if you are an MFA member. To join, go to https://www.minnesotafrisbeeassociation.com/ and sign up!
Let me know if you have any questions. Stay safe and shoot well.
