About this tournament
2 rounds of play
This is a non-sanctioned tournament only for players who are 40 years old and up. There are only three possible divisions – Pro, Am, and Womens. Even though it’s non-sanctioned, your PDGA Classification will be used to determine which division you are eligible to play. If you are not a current PDGA member, your most recent Classification will apply.
Pros play short-orange layout, Ams and Womens play short-blue.
$25 entry fee, sign up on DGScene, paid in CASH at check-in. $20 goes into the payout, the other $5 to NL to rent the course, etc., and to me, to cover various expenses. Everyone will play for cash, so no players packs, etc.
The $20 per person goes toward a dozen CTPs, an ace fund, and a tiered bounty payout. How many players sign up for each division determines how big that pool will be. If 30 Ams sign up, that’d make the Am CTPs $30 apiece, ace pot at $60, and the rest of the money paid out in the tiered bounty. The Pros would have their own pool, with different CTPs, their own ace pot, and separate bounty based on how many Pros sign up.
Here’s the wrinkle: For each pool, there will be a single trophy winner, but it won’t necessarily go to the players who card the lowest score. It will go to the players who raked in the most cash in their pool. So shooting low will add some cash to your total, but you’ll probably also need to collect some CTPs if you want the trophy.
Even though we’re playing for money, it’s low stakes and all in good fun. I’m planning to provide lunch again and I expect it will be a pretty laid-back event.
