About this tournament

Pre-Registration Level 1 opens December 3, Pre-Registration Level 2 opens December 10. General Registration open December 17.

In accordance with the new PDGA Guidelines for B tier tournaments, players MUST be PDGA current members for 2022 to register.

This is the 9th Annual Maricopa Open presented by Infinite Discs. This year offers rounds at Maricopa Meadows (19 stretched hole layout) (Pool A & B) and Copper Sky (18 Holes) (Pool A, B & C). Tee times will be in affect. Pool A play Friday - Sunday (with few exceptions), Pool B play Friday - Sunday, Pool C play Saturday & Sunday. Pool B will play shot gun start at Maricopa Meadows on Friday due to school and parking issues.

Payout will be performed at final round completion, minus any playoff requirements for first place ties.

In the event of a first place tie, players must playoff following final scheduled tee time, please make sure to be available.

COVID-19 Safeguards
Your safety is our safety. For the most part, we will follow PDGA guidance on COVID-19 safety (https://www.pdga.com/pdga-documents/tour-documents/requirements-and-best-practices-pdga-sanctioned-play-during-covid-19).

We will follow all local city, state, and county rules related to COVID-19.
All players will be required to follow these guidelines.

Any player who is sick and exhibits COVID-19 related symptoms will not be allowed to play.

All players will be required to acknowledge and agree that they have read the following liability waiver from PDGA.

“I understand that participation in this event carries with it risk of injury or death and I, on behalf of myself, my heirs, administrators, executors, and assigns expressly release, forever discharge, and hold harmless 9th Annual Maricopa Open presented by Infinite Discs, Sam Russ or Chuck Russ, Greg Edwards, City of Maricopa, Maricopa Meadows HOA, Copper Sky DGC, Infinite Discs and the PDGA (the "Releases") for all personal injury, loss, damage to property, or death in connection with my participation in this event. Further, I understand and acknowledge that there currently exists a global pandemic associated with the disease COVID-19, that I am participating in this event at my own risk, that any safety precautions designed to protect against the spread of COVID-19 undertaken by the Releases does not guarantee I will not contract COVID-19, and that, the foregoing notwithstanding, it is my specific intent to affirm my foregoing release of the Releases with respect to any personal injury, loss, damage to property, or death I may experience from COVID-19 in connection with my participation in this event.”

Caddies and Spectators
Caddies and spectators will be allowed and is encouraged. Caddies and spectators must follow PDGA Guidelines.

Refund policy

1/21/22 - REGISTRATION OFFICIALLY CLOSES, WAITLIST REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED & NO ADDITIONS WILL BE MADE AFTER THAT DATE.

Maricopa Open is responsible for all refunds and cancellations.
All Withdrawals/Refunds will follow the PDGA Withdrawals/Refunds Policy: In accordance with the PDGA Withdrawals and Refunds policy listed in the PDGA Competition Manual for Disc Golf Events Rev. Jan 1, 2022.

1.03 Withdrawals and Refunds

A. Players Must email or phone their withdrawals to the Tournament Director only at the contact information posted for the tournament. Discussions with persons other than the Tournament Director, including other tournament staff, shall not be considered official.

B. Players who have paid MORE than a nominal waitlist fee of $10 to be on an event waitlist who do get into the event, or who officially request to withdraw from the waitlist prior to published closure of registration and waitlist replacements (within one week is recommended), will receive a 100% cash refund minus $10 waitlist fee. Waitlist players who Only paid a nominal non-refundable waitlist fee of $10 will not receive a refund.

C. Players who officially request to withdraw from an event at least 30 days before the start of the event will receive a 100% cash refund (minus up to a $10 handling fee).

D. Players who officially request to withdraw from an event 15 to 29 days before the start of the event will receive a 100% cash refund minus up to a $10 handling fee ONLY if their spot in the tournament is filled through either the waitlist or a walk-up entry (if offered). If the player’s spot is NOT filled, the TD has the choice to provide EITHER a 50% cash refund OR just the player’s pack the player would have received if they had attended (minus the cost of shipping). In the case of a player in a Pro division for an event without a Pro player pack worth at least 25% of the Entry Fee, the TD will provide the 50% cash refund.

E. Players who officially request to withdraw from an event within 14 days of the start of the event and prior to the event’s published closure of registration and waitlist replacements (within one week is recommended) will receive a 100% cash refund minus up to a $10 handling fee ONLY if their spot in the tournament is filled through either the waitlist or a walk-up entry (if offered). If the player’s spot is NOT filled, the TD has the choice to provide EITHER a 25% cash refund OR just the player’s pack they would have received if they had attended (minus the cost of shipping). In the case of a player in a Pro division for an event without a Pro player pack worth at least 25% of the Entry Fee, the TD will provide the 25% cash refund.

F. Players who do NOT officially request to withdraw from a registered spot playing in the event prior to the published closure of registration and waitlist replacements and don’t play (aka a no-show), forfeit their entry fee and do NOT receive a refund or player’s pack. (This does NOT apply to a waitlist player; see 1.03.B above.)

If the event is cancelled due to COVID-19 or other local, state, or federal requirements, $10 of each registration will not be refunded to cover event set-up costs.
