About this tournament

Join us for the 2019 Lost Plantation Charity Open, benefiting CURE Childhood Cancer! We’d like to thank the City of Rincon and the Lost Plantation Golf Club for hosting this event! This tournament is a great way to introduce the city of Rincon to the sport of disc golf and raise some serious money for charity. We’re all set for July 13, 2019 so mark your calendars!

Founded in 1975, CURE Childhood Cancer is dedicated to conquering childhood cancer through funding targeted research and through supporting patients and their families. Since its establishment as a grass-roots organization, CURE has focused its efforts on improving the care, quality of life, and survival rate of children with cancer. The founders, parents and a dedicated pediatric oncologist, joined forces to support laboratory research that would translate into immediate care for children with cancer.

Since that time, CURE has raised millions of dollars to fund cutting edge research at the Aflac Cancer Center Blood Disorders Service at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Emory University School of Medicine and other top pediatric cancer research institutions - focusing on projects which are likely to have a clinical or therapeutic impact within five years. Through innovative programming, CURE also provides support for patients and their families.

For more information about CURE, visit https://curechildhoodcancer.org/

Our event is being operated under the PDGA Competition Endowment Program (CEP). This guarantees that twenty five percent (25%) of all entry fees, plus all PDGA fees, will go directly to our charity, CURE Childhood Cancer. We're also going to have raffles, silent auctions, and more! Come out and support this amazing charity!

Our event is also introducing disc golf to the city of Rincon! The city council has been extremely supportive of the sport and has expressed interest in building a new permanent course. Our event will be the first chance that many locals see disc golf. Come out and show Rincon that disc golf is worth investing in!

The 18-hole disc golf course will be designed by Timothy Barr from Premier Design Disc Golf. The course will be arranged on top of 9-hole section of the Lost Plantation Golf Club in Rincon, GA. Design information will be provided as soon as it’s available! Golf carts are available for practice rounds. Carts will be provided during the tournament to get to your starting hole. Transportation between holes will be provided where necessary.

The course will be open for practice rounds on Friday July 12 starting at 1:00 PM.

The event is scheduled for one day. All competitors will play two rounds of 18 holes. Round 2 will begin an hour after the last card is turned in from round 1.

Thanks to our generous sponsors, player's packs and divisional prizes will be awarded! Each player will receive a player's pack at registration. Each division winner will be presented a custom, hand-carved trophy from our supporter, The Carving Plane. Additional prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in each division. Pros will receive a cash payout. More details will be announced closer to the event!

We’d like to thank South Fork Provisions for offering lunch options to all of our players. At registration, you will be able to choose whether between a BBQ Pork Sandwich or Veggie Wrap. All meals come with chips and the choice of pasta salad or a fruit cup. Lunch will be provided on-site during the event!

Are you ready for a throw with some serious pressure? All players will be provided AUTOMATIC ENTRY into the Ace Race Challenge and have a chance to win either $5,000 or $10,000 if they throw an ace on the designated hole during round 2!

The challenge will take place on a hole around 300 feet with an open fairway and no obstructions between the tee pad and the green. That means it's just you and the basket! Hit the ace, and Grow Disc Golf will award you $5,000! If the disc thrown is documented as a Dynamic Discs, Latitude 64, or Westside Discs disc, the award will be DOUBLED to $10,000.00! WHAAAT!!

All drives will be filmed and documented from the tee pad. Players must state their name and the disc they are throwing into the camera before they throw their shot. Good luck!!

More information coming soon! All revenue generated from silent auction sales will be donated to CURE!
