About this tournament
2 rounds of play
The 10th Annual 2026 Lake Chabot New Year's Classic returns to the permanent Lake Course. We have a brand new layout on Saturday, playing the course backwards! This will be a mix of 10 temporary and permanent basket locations. Due to course restrictions the backwards layout won't be available to practice, so it will be a level playing field with everyone getting a fresh crack at the layout and a chance to play each hole twice! Sunday's play will be on the regular layout with 20 unique holes and will be available to practice the week of the tournament.
The event will be 1 round each day. The field is split into two pools (subject to change):
A Pool: MPO, MP40, MP50, MP60, MA1
B Pool: FPO, FP40, FP50, MA2, MA40, MA50, FA1, FA2, FA40, FA50, Juniors (if others requested, please reach out!)
Shotgun Start: Saturday Jan 3th, 2026 and Sunday Jan 4th, 2026
Morning: B pool
Afternoon: A pool
Spots are VERY limited. 50 Players for each Pool. Early Registration will be available for an $80 Tee Sign Sponsorship.
Divisions will be limited to certain sizes at first but will open up depending on the total number of signups in each division closer to the tournament date. If you are on the waitlist for a "capped" division, we will do our best to get you in as long as the total number of players in each pool remains below 50.
Players packs for AMs, payouts for Pros. Players packs will include a tournament stamped MVP disc and a customized wooden mini by Orbital Creations, with your name, pdga # and tournament logo! (Only customized if registered by Dec 20). Pros have option for the wooden mini add-on at registration, and a limited number of tournament discs will be sale at the event.
~Transparency in Player Cost~
There will be pass through fees for this event. Of a players net entry fee:
$20 for Facility Fees (Rental of the Lake Disc Golf Course at Lake Chabot)
$3 is PDGA Fees
$3 is TD Fees
$50 is Players Packs (for Ams)
The rest of the entry fee will be going towards payouts for Pros and Script for AMs.
~Making Space for Women~
Women will have access to early registration, as well as a $10 discount on both the Pro and Ams side (compared to the Mixed registration Fee)
***All divisions initially offered to mixed divisions (e.g. MP40) will also be initially offered to female divisions (e.g. FP40) to allow players to sign up for the division they most prefer. We will try our best to host every division that has sufficient interest! If divisions have less than 4 players, we may collapse them, with option to withdraw.
~Use of Limited Exceptions~
Our team will ensure that the use of limited exceptions (hole sponsorships & volunteers) meet the criteria and intent established by 1.02 in the PDGA competition manual. The number of players gaining entry into the event using these exceptions will not exceed 33% of any given pool (Pro or AM)

Refund policy
East Bay Disc Golf Club is responsible for all refunds/cancellations. We will follow the outline rules in the PDGA competition manual here: https://www.pdga.com/rules/competition-manual/103
