About this tournament

South Tahoe Disc Golf Association is hoping to host the “King of the Lake” disc golf tournament this year. Unfortunately at this time, we are unsure if we will be able to host the event this year due to the current Covid-19 pandemic. It is our hope that things will clear up and return to some sort of normalcy by the tournament date. However, STDGA will have to make a determination on May 15th, 2020 as to if it looks like we can proceed with this tournament. If it doesn’t look like we will be able to host the tournament based on City, County, State or Federal restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic; we will refund your entry fee minus any PayPal or Disc Golf Scene registration fees that you may incur.

The 2020 “King of the Lake” presented by DGA is June 26th-28th, 2020. This tournament is the 2nd event of the Sierra Tahoe Series and is the 6th event of the "Steady" Ed Tour Series. This is a "B" tier PDGA sanctioned Pro/Am tournament. A minimum of $2,000 cash will be added to the pro pay-out. The divisions have been capped. A minimum of at least three players is required to complete a division. If divisions are not completed by May 24th; players in an incomplete division will be asked to move to another division or receive a refund. The spots that were reserved in the incomplete divisions will be released to fill other divisions with players on the waiting list.

South Tahoe Disc Golf Association invites you to beautiful Lake Tahoe to help us crown a King and a Queen of the Lake. This year the “King of the Lake” is reverting back to a previous format. This year the “King of the Lake” will be a three day tournament featuring five of the Lake Tahoe Region’s most challenging and scenic disc golf courses. On Friday, competitors will be playing Sierra College Disc Golf Course in Truckee, CA and the Lake of the Sky DGC in Tahoe Vista, CA. On Saturday, Competitors will be playing Zephyr Cove DGC in Zephyr Cove, NV and Turtle Rock Disc DGC in Markleeville, CA. On Sunday, all competitors will be playing at Bijou Disc Golf Course in South Lake Tahoe, CA. After the final round at Bijou DGC, there will be a Closest to the Pin contest featuring a Zuca Disc Golf Cart and a DGA Mach 7 Basket with a custom KOTL number plate. There will also be a putting contest for a Mini Trophy Basket with a custom KOTL number plate. After the Awards Ceremony there will be a Huge Raffle featuring A DGA Mach X Basket and a DGA Mach 5 Basket with custom KOTL number plates.

Come experience the unique disc golfing experience that the Lake Tahoe Region’s disc golf courses have to offer.

Our prayers are with the victims, their families and everyone else effected by this virus. This tournament is secondary to any player’s health or safety. Here’s to hoping and praying that things will be better soon.
