About this tournament

We are inviting women and girls of all ages to play two fun rounds of disc golf over Mother’s Day weekend! Every player will receive a great player’s pack including 2 discs (full details below).

Mother's Day Special! Mother & daughter $5 discount

The Huckleberry Open will now be virtual, and no longer be held in the traditional in-person format due to recent Public Health orders. We have taken considerable thought as to how we can still play disc golf collectively, but without gathering at this time.

We have come up with a virtual format to keep everyone safe so we can still get outside for some fun exercise in the sun! And you’ll still get the awesome player's pack, plus a chance to win some great prizes from our local sponsors.

LOCATION CHANGE: The location has now changed to Marsh Creek Disc Golf course at the Beaver Valley Family Campground in Fruitvale, BC.

DATES: Tee times will be spread over 3 days (May 7-9) to space out rounds and allow for players to play individually or with a partner in their core bubble. You will only play on one of the 3 days as assigned. We’ll do our best to give everyone their preferred day & tee times where possible.

TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS: Only open to residents of Nelson, Rossland, Trail, Castlegar and neighbouring rural areas.

Every participant will receive the following Player Pack items:
- PDGA WGE stamped Dynamic Disc
- PDGE WGE stamped Innova Disc
- PDGE WGE Disc Golf Pin
- PDGA Canvas Bag
- PDGA Towel
- PDGA Disc Golfer's Code Reusable Scorecard
- PDGA Pencil
- and more!

- There will be no gathering of any sort. No players meeting, no awards ceremony. No groups.
- Players must register in advance for a tee time either individually (play alone) or with a member of their core bubble.
- If you are playing alone you may be accompanied by anyone from your household (even if they aren’t playing in the virtual event) ex. you may bring your partner, spouse, child, or other household members to play or walk with you.
- Players must only play 2 rounds at their assigned tee times during the virtual tournament dates: May 7, 8, 9 at Marsh Creek Disc Golf Course (practice rounds are allowed up until May 6)
- Players must not gather with any other players before or after their rounds
- No additional spectators or caddies
- No handling or passing any other player’s discs
- Masks REQUIRED to be worn within 6ft of other people (unless of the same household)
- This is an all ages, alcohol-free and substance-free event
- All instructions will be updated on this registration page and will also be sent to registered players by email.
- If you have any questions feel free to email Violet - slyviolet(at)

- Each player will record their own score after each hole is completed (honour system)
- Try to play your personal best, but mostly just have fun and enjoy the walk in the woods :)
- Please count every stroke thrown (even the ones that hit trees!)
- If you want to use UDisc to keep track of your scores it’s a free app you can download on your phone. Or use traditional paper & pencil.
- Upon completion of your 2 rounds please promptly email Violet a pic or screen shot of your scorecard: slyviolet(at)
Note: On Hole 2 if your disc lands near the barbed wire, you can move your disc 2 metres away from the fence towards the basket (no penalty). Hole 13 will be changed to par 6 instead of par 4. All other pars will remain the same :)

- Prizes will be awarded to the top players in each division
- All prizes and player's packs will be delivered to your home address between May 10-15
- For anyone who would like to pick up their player's pack prior to May 7 (ie. so you can use your 2 new discs during your rounds): early pick-up can be arranged in Salmo by reaching out to Violet.

To keep everyone COVID-safe and to abide by Public Health orders, all players must agree to follow the above instructions and rules of the tournament in order to participate. Refund options available below.
