Hub City Mixed Doubles (a Throw Pink event)
About this tournament
The Hub City Mixed Doubles (a Throw Pink event) is a fun, non-sanctioned doubles event held at the Pipeline DGC in Spartanburg, SC. The event is two rounds and trophy only. All proceeds will go to the local cancer foundation.
DIVISIONS
While this is not a sanctioned event, we will use the following PDGA divisions: MPO (pro/open), MA1 (935+), MA2 (900-935), and MA3 (899 or lower). Please register for the division based on the PDGA rating of the highest rated player on the team. If neither player has a rating, then it is recommended that you sign up for the MA3 division.
For this event, we interpret the "M" in these divisions as the PDGA intended: Mixed. Per the PDGA, two ladies may play on a "mixed" team.
LAYOUT
The event will feature the Pipeline RED tee layout (par 58), which can be found on both UDisc and Disc Golf Course Review. I have attached a PDF of the layout with specific directions to each hole. This is layout includes shorter tees on all holes except holes 2, 4, 11, and 15.
FORMATS
Round 1
Modified Alternate Shot Doubles
Players alternate from the tee shot to the completion of the hole.
The process starts over at each hole.
Each team member is responsible for 9 tee shots.
Round 2
Captain’s Choice Doubles
Players choose each throw to use from the tee shot until the completion of the hole.
The process starts over at the beginning of each hole.
* Each team member is responsible for 9 tee shots.
RAFFLE TICKETS
Raffle tickets are available for $5, $10, and $20. These tickets will be given out on the day of the event. Raffle items to include a Throw Pink Innova DISCatcher and a handmade breast cancer quilt.
