About this tournament

August 18, 2018 -- rain or shine.
Check-in: 9:15 AM
Meeting: 9:45 AM
Tee time: 10:00 AM
Short break in-between rounds
Prizes Awarded following 2nd round

Two rounds of 18 holes, one throw per hole per player. Discs from your Players Packet are the only ones permitted in the tournament.

Course layout:
It's a unique course layout for this tournament, very different from the usual play. Holes are very short, averaging 150 feet each.

Entry fee: $30 (US)
Pre-registration is REQUIRED. Registration CLOSES on August 2nd.

All 2018 players received two identical Discraft prototype discs made especially for this year's Ace Race, plus a lanyard, a premium disc golf towel, hat, and mini. All included with your entry fee! [SEE IMAGE UNDER PICTURES SECTION]

Rules of play:
Players are required to use the player package discs, and only these discs. If a disc is lost, the player must use the second disc from the package in order to remain in the competition. There is no out-of-bounds and no stroke or score penalties for losing a disc. Only one throw per player per hole (unless you have a mulligan to use). All players should have their own scorecards and mark "A" for aces (a hole-in-one) and "M" for holes on which they hit metal.

After all players in the group have thrown, discs are picked up and the group moves directly to the next tee. Players keep their scorecards for round two, using the next line on the card to record the round.

On the day of the tournament, a one-time club donation of $5 or $10 can be made to acquire mulligans (do-overs), $5 gets you 2, and $10 gets you 5. Nobody will get more than 5 mulligans for the entire tournament (and nobody can acquire mulligans during play).

To use a mulligan, circle the appropriate box on your scorecard and throw the other disc from your Players Pack. Retrieving your first disc to throw it again is not permitted. By throwing a second disc, your first throw is nullified (even if it was a metal). Using mulligans is not required, and having unused mulligans at the end of the tournament means nothing. If you lose one of your supplied discs, you will be unable to use any more of your mulligans. If you lose the other supplied disc, you are eliminated from the competition.

2018 Prizes:
Players are awarded the highest prize for which they qualify (making them ineligible for lower prize categories).

The player with the most aces after 36 holes is declared the winner. In case of ties, the number of metal hits is used as a tie breaker. If a tie persists, a closest to the pin contest is then used to determine the event winner for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes.

Grand Prize: Tournament backpack, SuperColor winners disc, towel and mini.
2nd Place: 3 discs, towel and mini.
3rd Place: 1 disc, towel and mini.

3 categories will be awarded for 4th place. The player with the most aces+metals wins the 4th place prize.

4th Place Women: Choice of 1 disc from prize pile.
4th Place Men: Choice of 1 disc from prize pile.
4th Place Youth ≤17yo: Choice of 1 disc from prize pile.

Ring of Fire; everyone throws simultaneously from about 50 feet. All aces will continue in subsequent rounds until only one remains victorious.

Last Chance, Ring of Fire Disc from prize pile.
