About this tournament

Grand Strand Team Matchplay is a competitive but fun, team-based disc golf league built for players across the entire coastal Carolina region.

This league is open to anyone — whether you’re from Myrtle Beach, Conway, Florence, Charleston, Wilmington, or anywhere in between. The goal is to bring together competitive players who enjoy a structured team format while still keeping it fun and social.

We will have 4 total teams led by captains:
Keegan Wroten
Will Deering
Dillon Blunier
Chad Sullivan

Only the first 40 players to register will be entered into the fantasy-style snake draft. Each captain will draft their team from that pool. Each team will consist of 11 total players — 10 drafted players plus the captain.

Any players who register after the first 40 will be placed on a waitlist. If a player drops at any point, the next person on the waitlist will be added directly to that team.

Schedule:
All matches will be played on the first Sunday of each month at 12:30 PM.

May 3
June 7
July 5
Finals Playoff: August 1

Each event will include:

One singles round
Followed by one doubles round (starting approximately 30–45 minutes after the completion of the first round)

Each month, all 4 teams will be at the same course and layout but competing head-to-head against a designated opponent. Matchups will rotate monthly so each team plays against all other teams.

Each team will take turns throughout the season selecting:

The layout
The event format (within the league structure)

The order of course layout selection will also be determined by a fantasy-style draft.

The team selecting that month’s course layout will provide food for all players from all four teams during that event .

Player Participation Rules:
Each match, only 8 players from each team will compete.

If more than 8 players from a team show up (for example, 10 players), then:

8 players will play the first round
The remaining players who sat out MUST play the second round

This ensures fair participation across all team members. If you sign up, please plan to attend the majority of events, as participation is important to your team.

Entry Fee:
$50 per player
(This will go toward food, league operations, hot round/CTP prizes and trophies)

Important:
Only the first 40 players to sign up will be included in the draft. After that, all players will be placed on the waitlist.

This is meant to be a fun, competitive, and well-organized team event. Whether you’re highly competitive or just looking for something different and exciting, you’re welcome to join.
